Back When Tigers Used To Smoke
This was supposed to be a small drawing for next chapter, but it's taking longer than expected, so I decided to render it fully
Can't stand her fake ass
My interpretation of Morgott-Mohg relationship (as previously stated by another user on here) is that they were separated in their early childhood.
Why would the Golden Order keep two demigod children in close proximity to each other where they could plot and validate each other's feelings on being unloved and deserted? That would only lead to shared distaste towards the Golden Order. But as we know only one of them detests it! Both Mohg and Morgott are very well-spoken, so they probably had caretakers, and in later life, tutors.
Once again, probably different tutors and caretakers.
I like to think that Mohg escaped his confinement and ran куда глаза глядят while Morgott was being groomed into becoming a spare prince/puppet ruler. It's pretty obvious that a person cannot successfully rule a city for 1000+ years if they were never prepared for it or supported during it(at least in the beginning).
Either way, the twins were probably in minimal contact with each other throughout their lives. No point in bothering a person who doesn't agree with you on practically anything and lives on the (literal) opposite side of the map.
Maybe when they last saw each other, they set up that Mohg, The Omen apparition. Maybe it's like an awkward occasional coworker situation. It's funny.
A lot of people like to imagine Godfrey as a guilty-good father who'd secretly bring his wet, abandoned kitten children food, blankets, whatever to make up for his weakness in the face of their Mother but I just cannot envision it. Yes, he could have provided education, caretakers and material necessities but I don't think that the man who is famous for wanting to kill people would be a gentle(even by medieval standards) and self-conscious parent.
One could argue that he'd have sympathy for Omen since they're part of the Crucible And That but once again, Mr Murder is probably not a poster boy for empathy.
There was once a fanfic I read where Godfrey was violently(?) sparring with a younger Morgott as a bonding/teaching activity and I thought that was about right. In my mind the gentlest he's Ever with his children is when he's either absent or when they're dead and he has nothing left to teach them. If you were to really pick my brain you'd find a Godfrey who sees his children as an extension of himself/his legacy.
So yes, he'll have them educated, trained and fed but I don't think Morgott or Mohg had any chance of turning out normal if Guy Killer was the most present parent in their life
I did it. Chapter 2 in a month maybe. I am a slow writer and a perfectionist.

first chapter is finished and proofread. will publish on ao3 soon enough. currently cannot breathe at all from my nose due to infection. I am unimpressed. have this doodle i made in 4 minutes.
I actually don't... know where the 'mohg and morgott grew up in the sewers together' theory came from. Realistically why would Marika want the risk of putting... two unwanted demigod sons who, based on their genetic composition would most likely turn out to be super fucking strong... in the same place. She's more likely to ensure they never meet so they never work together to escape or against her. 'Under strictest confinement' also sounds more like they were locked up in solitary prison cells rather than together or just let loose in the sewers.
Finding it interesting that Mohg's shackle was left behind in the sewers but Morgott's was out there in Patches' hands. My impression is perhaps Mohg escaped his confinement but Morgott was eventually released from his. Perhaps Mohg broke out when he was very young and ran all the way down until he found the formless mother, and grew up around the eternal cities; whereas Morgott stayed in his, got taken to Leyndell from time to time and received education there.
It would line up with many things e.g. 1. their very different ways of speech 2. their complete opposite attitudes towards the Erdtree and the 'graceless Tarnished' 3. Godfrey's line for Morgott 4. the fact that Morgott was given grace 5. their great runes descriptions... and just vibes in general (waves)
*tbh I don't understand why people think they must have loved/cared about each other so much The Vibe I personally have got is they only met very later on and could never get along BUT because they knew they were twins from their great runes, they were willing to make an effort to be peaceful and respect each other's boundaries.
*Imagine when Mohg received his great rune he's like uh Guys. turns out I've been a prince of the Erdtree this whole fucking time. POTENTIAL RIGHTFUL LORD OF LEYNDELL EVEN. and everyone at the dynasty just laughed their arses off.
*this post came from the thought of 'what if Mohg and Morgott were taken into Leyndell for a horrible birthday party for Godwyn or something. and Mohg and Miquella just looked at each other a lot across the room at said horrible thing'. Now. My conclusion is that likely never happened. Nevermind they can do that somewhere else.
i noticed i was drawing morgott far too happy lately. have this low effort doodle as compensation sorry.
i realized i don't need actually to draw any elaborate background in any drawing, life suddenly got better
Can you tell us more about Morgott and Adohan’s relationship?? 🙏😊
Made a small drawing just for this.
at first, adohan was morgott's reluctant employee. morgott(as king) would come into her dwelling space and tell her to go kill X person with margit, and she'd go. adohan is technically their prisoner, and morgott has a tendency to dangle the Rold medallion over her head saying, "if you behave and be compliant, i'll give it to you in no time!" Which is obviously a lie, they both know it but adohan can't climb mountains at 90 degree angles so it's not like she has any other choice.
eventually they begin to actually *like* each other, or at least have sympathy for one another. then some time after it develops into respect and affection. overall, they're not quite sure what they are to each other. at worst, they're an HR violation, at best they are tomgreg.

what do you do when your new boss comes into your private office(cell) at the witching hour to ask you to kill your ex boss
happy new year(3 days late), hope everything will be good and okay.
i really like how morgott's face looks like here. i think i should have made adohan look angrier. that background took longer than the subjects. it's like a nursery wallpaper, very cute.
more and more adohan. have i ever said that the only reason she's a main character is because she's easy to draw?
the bottom girl is dayaana by the way. strangely, drawing her reminded me of twilight sparkle. she's only ever mentioned in the main fic, and only in adohans POV.
love. maybe.
second post today.
i call this one "chance meeting".
this is a study of a painting by Denis Gordeev, exceptionally fun to draw.
admittedly, a scene similar to my current draft of the fic.
