Most of my theories about Before the Storm were not killed by the second episode. In fact, my main theory seems even more likely now... at least to me anyway.
I just really love this game series, and the characters, the storyline, just everything. It’s like watching a movie, rather than watching a game.
So... this idea popped into my head last night, after reading a couple of stories where Max stops time. One of the stories, plus some theories about Before the Storm, really got my imagination going.
I’ll probably never write this, but just in case...
What if Max completely lost it over the final decision of the original game?
She thinks: Sacrifice an entire town to keep her best friend and the love of her life alive, or sacrifice the one person who means everything to her, to save an entire town?
WTF!?
All of her anger and frustration comes boiling to the surface, instead tearing the butterfly photo in two, or jumping into it, she crumples it she curls her hands into fists and screams at time, the universe, the tornado everything.
She’s ready to go head to head with whatever force brought her and Chloe to this particular moment in time.
Max is so consumed by her rage, that she doesn’t notice the way time slows to a stop, but not like when she saved Kate, this time, Max herself was not affected by the time freeze... nor was Chloe.
The winds of the tornado still whirled, but it didn’t move closer to the town, in fact, everything around the vortex was completely frozen in time.
This is where the BtS theories come into play, along with a heavy dose of my own imagination of magical or mystical elements.
Basically, Max isn’t so chicken shit anymore, Rachel is a guardian spirit, and the love Chloe has for both Max and Rachel saves the world.
