Tbh I think the "but data centers are important infrastructure, not just AI" talking point misses that like

Ok so roads are important infrastructure. A lot of stuff that's important happens on roads. Now, let's imagine that quadrillionaire Matt Stench has decided that the next big tech innovation is the Wide Car. It's a car that takes up six lanes despite seating only one passenger.

The Wide Car is supposed to be the future, and everyone's going to be driving Wide Cars, even though nobody who makes Wide Cars is turning a profit. Employers are offering Wide Cars as an employee benefit, and getting "nah." Some employers are going as far as demanding their employees drive Wide Cars, and the result is that people take time out of their workdays to get in the mandatory gas usage for their Wide Car before driving home in a regular car.

In spite of the fact that the Wide Car is clearly set to fail, there's an enormous push to expand to twelve-lane roads to accommodate a bunch of Wide Cars that simply will not materialize. This is not an organic response to demand, but a speculative investment that amplifies the existing issues with road development for no good reason.

That is the problem.

I’m flabbergasted at HotD, because I don’t understand what the motivation is for the characters. Like, I don’t get why they’re doing what they’re doing because it makes no sense.

Why does Daemon care about his dream/ vision of the girl with dragons (Daenerys). Why is it important? They have a dozen dragons just chilling there at the time so who is this random girl he dreamt of and why do her dragons matter?

Why was the Master of Laws trying to rape the dowager Queen? Whatever the time period, that would get his head lopped off for daring to do this against royalty.

Why is Alicent allowing the Black dragons and their riders to take the Red Keep without a fight? Why does she even want peace ? Her own grandson is beheaded, two of the black princes are dead, countless lives lost in the gullet, and by surrendering she puts ALL her allies at risk, even the low born servants who worked for the greens. Not very peace loving of her to let all of those people die, and they WILL because they will be executed for their green affiliation.

Why does Rhaenyra trust Alicent to keep her word and fly in with her dragons and no back up army ??? Leaving your dragons unattended to sashay inside the keep with just your uncle-husband is crazy.

It’s incredibly easy to write stories when you don’t think about the motivations or personality of your characters at all and just do whatever.

Was anyone also appalled by the fact that Rhaneyra and Daemon just walked into the red keep without reinforcements? Like what. And what were the chances that the gold cloaks would be loyal to Daemon. Did they just expect to stroll in and sit on the throne without any push back?

Now that may not seem at all unusual or miraculous to you or me probably because all our dragons are still alive and we have no reason to think anything is going to happen to them but would this woman who roofied me 58 times in a one week span have lied? Do you think she’d show me a tree man without cause? Do you think people are just blonde for no reason? Exactly. Now put your shoes on, we’ll avenge Jeremy
