The best project you’ll ever work on is you.

It has been 2 weeks since I last sat for my very last paper which also marks the end of my Master’s degree journey that I’ve gone through the past one and a half year. Wow am I really done? I have to admit that despite all of the struggles, it has been a wonderful one and I made it to the end!
It wasn’t easy but it was worth it. I had to juggle between fulfilling coursework requirements each semester and at the same time conduct a research project. I wouldn’t have done it without prayers and blessings from everyone around me. I have never felt so determined in my life. There are moments I felt like I couldn’t do it but I knew better, I wasn’t just going to give up just like that. I am also thankful to be appointed the kindest, warmhearted supervisor for me to work my research with. Friends who encouraged me from the very beginning till the very end. Family who sent their prayers all the way from home. I wouldn’t have made it without any of it. Alhamdullillah.
My next plan is to pursue a Doctorate degree as scary as it sounds. Yikes. It has never crossed my mind but now, I know that I want to, more than anything. It is the one and only resolution I walked into the new year with. I have been searching for scholarships and potential universities the past few months. It is all I hope for and I hope that luck will be on my side this time because I sure as hell don’t have the funds to sponsor myself a Doctorate degree.
I have yet to break this news to everyone back home and all I want is nothing but their blessings. Some would understand and I’m beyond thankful for that. I know some wouldn’t be in favor of anyone pursuing anything at this state of economy, what with all the financial and budgetary cuts going on, that I shouldn’t as I’ll end up with no job in the end. I really don’t need this kind of negativity but it is the fact that I’ll have to face when I get back. How do you deal with these kind of people, really?
So if anyone asks me what am I up to now.. I am in the midst of preparing a research proposal that is decent enough to secure me a supervisor and a placement, oh! and fingers-crossed, a scholarship. The past 2 weeks has been the laziest I have been so you can imagine the progress of my proposal so far. I sit anxiously at home trying to write and get everything done as soon as I can before application closes. At the same time, I am also waiting for the final results to be released so I can fly back home!
Until then, wish me luck!

Hello
I decided to blog yet again. The last time was what, 7 years ago? Yikes I hope I still remember how to! I figured that tumblr would be a good site for me to begin because I can be an awfully, boring blogger. I can assure that I don’t possess the capabilities to write exceptional posts that would attract readers. I’ve had tumblr for a long, long time. I especially like the reblog feature, it totally suit a lazy, lazy person like me. I mean, with just a reblog and voila! blog updated! And I like that everyone in tumblr is somehow connected without even knowing each other just by reblogging. So I feel that creating a personal (do I want to call it personal?) blog under tumblr will be much easier and convenient for me. You see, the idea is simple: I’ll reblog when I’m not blogging. Yes, that’s the plan. And at least it’ll keep my blog (sort of) active. Cheers!
May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art – write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.
