The roll of the bright blue eyes was one that conveyed a playful annoyance and masked the light jealousy brewing beneath the surface. The girl who tossed him out of the bed this morning was damn out of her mind in her book. “See, I’m going to say that the entire thing is a walk of shame”, she started with a smile, drawing her coffee back as they seemed to fall into that natural walking pace set by the mutual decision that the rest of the morning would be spent together. “See, it’s a walk of shame because the girl tossed you out, which makes the total experience just shameful. Now the experience you should of gotten was a little bit of excitement in the middle of the night before with someone who understands the situation. That way, it’s not a mad rush to get out in the morning and maybe even a little more fun in morning as a goodbye treat. Now that would be a stride of pride”, she explained thoughtfully, even attempting to plant a seed in the mind of the one guy that seemed to snatch her attention with this game and the obvious tension that dwelled between them. “All I did was point out a shoe and enjoy the show, buying me breakfast is not necessary”, and it took all of her strength to avoid making any more advances or comments regarding what could cause breakfast to be a real reward. “But who am I to turn down free breakfast with a handsome man?”
"Whatever helps you sleep at night, darling,” he said despite both of them knowing it was really about whatever helped him sleep at night. Saying you had a one-night stand sounded a lot better than getting kicked out on the streets with no clothes on. “I like the way you think, Ms. Fox. Though I was under the impression that we both were aware that it was a one-night stand, but she did not approve of me wanting to put on clothes. Now that I’m thinking about it maybe I simply misread the situation. Maybe she’ll forgive me if I go back and take my clothes off again.” Rhys smirked. Although he was sure he hadn’t misread the situation (otherwise the scene wouldn’t have been as dramatic) Rhys wanted to see how Sawyer would react to that. “Ah, the point is you helped me. Besides, it’d be hard to make a good impression if I took your coffee and made you pay for you own breakfast. We wouldn’t want that now, would we?” It was true, he wanted to make a good impression on her. It may not seem like that when he flirted with other people at the bar or in case like that morning, but he had always wanted her to like his personality. At least since he moved back to Providence, he hadn’t been that aware of her when they were younger. “I don’t know, personally I’d rather have breakfast with a beautiful woman. I’d even pay for her food just to spend more time with her.” When they arrived at the restaurant, Rhys held the door open for her. While he could be an asshole at times, he could also be charming. There was a reason why he managed to have a one-night stand in the first place. “You know, this is not how I imagined my morning to be going, but it took a great turn,” he said as they were walking towards a table. “I might have to show up in front of you shirtless more often if this is what happens.”
