Here is a Thank You to You

What a year this has been! As I sit and prepare for missions this next week, I also look back on a crazy year! I sit here and remember every little detail of struggle, fear, hurt, loneliness, absolutely every little thing. I look back and thank God for every aspect! Every relationship he has brought me into, every child I have loved on and prayed for and out time and effort into, every person I got to speak to, all of it! But I want to take a moment and thank the people who made this all possible for me to go through Bayside College! My family, friends, pastors.. Thank you all so much! Bayside college staff especially for trusting and believing in me! For pushing me farther than I think I can go to see me pull the potential in me! Thank you for being apart of a program that wants to pull us in, love on us, pour yourself into us and then send us on our way to live out the calling God has on our lives! So everyone who has prayed for me, believed in me, and pushed me to where I am and who I am becoming THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

Sick Life

What in the world is happening to me... Tuesday I woke up feeling so awful. I went to workouts still, but sat out and watched. Instead I went inside and took me a shower and slept for 20 mins. I made it through class but after I went straight home! As soon as I got home my fever shot up to 102.7. I sleep all day and then woke up to 104.9 fever! Thought it was my time to go to Jesus!! But now today I rested and went to the doctor and starting to feel like myself again!! YAY!

Sisterhood ❤️

"But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” Ruth 1:16, NIV As we read in Titus 2, women who help women usually produce wisdom and achievements. When we stick together, we begin strong, accelerate fast and finish well. The Bible teaches us that when two or more are gathered together in the same Spirit, God is amongst them. Let’s be women of the same Spirit. Let’s be women of change and impact. It is God’s desire to see women work together in love and for one purpose, which is to lift His name high. I love the story of Ruth and Naomi because it shows what sisterhood is all about; a love that is not separated by anything, a love that conquers all together, a union that is inseparable. Although this is something we would all love to have, we must always remember to be that person to someone else first. We must never forget that the rule of life is reaping what we sow; we can’t expect to receive from others what we’ve never sown into them. We are called to stand out in every area of our lives, especially when it comes to relationships because the focal point of a Christian life is the relationship we have with our Father. Healthy relationships are essential, so who are you impacting today? Who are you pouring yourself into today? Who are you are supporting and loving today; because who you are matters and it speaks volumes. Don’t lead by words, lead by example! (Read Titus 2:3-5)

Nanner pudding

So a friend asked me, "Maria what's your favorite kind of pudding?" You know.. My favorite pudding is.... BANANA PUDDING!! The flavor of the bananas and vanilla wafers together salivates In my mouth right now ;) mwuahaha well that's all I have for you today

7 Things Every Teen Christian Girl Needs To Know

1. You don’t have to be in a romantic relationship to enjoy your high school years. Read Romans 8:28.

2. You are beautiful in a unique way even if no one has ever told you that. Read Psalm 139:14.

3. While your education is important, as a young woman you are NOT defined by your GPA, the classes you take, or where you are going to college. Read Matthew 6:34.

4. It’s okay if you don’t fit in. It’s okay if you’re not like the other girls. No matter how much pressure you feel to fit in with a certain group or be included with certain people, standing out is not always easy, but it’s a good thing, and it’s making you stronger and braver than you’ve ever been. Read Romans 12:2.

5. Don’t beat yourself up over your past. In Jesus, there is forgiveness for all sins no matter what has happened. Read Galatians 5:1.

6. Surround yourself with wise people that are older than you and believe what you believe. Don’t ever feel like you’re in the alone, especially if you’ve dealt with abuse or self-harm. God has placed people in your life to help. Read Proverbs 19:20.

7. Never feel like you have to dress or act a certain way to win approval from a guy, a clique at school, or even in a youth group. As a follower of Christ, you’re not after peoples approval. You are after Gods approval. Read Galatians 1:10

My Mission Statement

I believe in living a proactive, intentional, and passionate life. The road may be scary and the future unknown, but I will not sit by passively. Watching as my life wanders around aimlessly with no direction. I admit that I am not reckless. I am careful. I am not spontaneous or unplanned. I am organized and cautious and restrained and that's okay! I want people in my life to see a kind, considerate, and caring person! I want them to see love and generosity and a good heart, but I need to be okay with the fact that not everyone will see these things in me because the people who are important are the ones who love me for me, and I need to be okay with the fact that I am not perfect, but the best I can do it try! And I want to live passionately. I want to love and love and just BE passionately. I want to truly believe in what I believe and stand by it without being ashamed. I want to discover the things and people that I love and truly love them! But beyond all of this, I want to love myself passionately, because I need to love myself for everything that I am before I can love anything else.

Words of Encouragement

God is going to do something amazing in your life this week. I don’t know what you’ve been praying about, what has had you up all night, what has had your pillows soaked with tears, but I am here to tell you today that God has heard your prayers, his angels have been dispatched and you will see a miracle this week. You will see your health turn around for the good, you will surprise your doctors, you will get the job, your project will be green lighted. Your job this week is to walk out the door expecting God’s favor and provision. You need to speak like it is going to happen. You need to act like it’s going to happen. That’s Faith!! You need to rise up and say “Father I don’t see a way, but I know you will make a way.” “You are my father and You don’t withhold any good thing from your children.” “You are the same God yesterday, today, and forever.” When God hears you speak life in the midst of your pain, when He sees you praising him despite your circumstances, Then God will open up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing and move mightily in your life.

Open letter to strugglers

Are you depressed? Are you struggling with family issues? Are you suffering from cancer? Are you lonely? Ladies and Gentlemen, I am here to tell you there is hope!! It's called Jesus Christ!! "Cast all your anxiety upon Him because He cares for you." -1 Peter 5:7. Jesus Christ died on a cross for us! He was beaten and suffered for us so that we have a place in heaven! So that we can all live a great life, yet we don't even give any credit to him! We act like we have it all and can do it all on our own! He did it all for a reason! Open your Bibles, talk to Him like he is your best friend, because if you ask you shall receive!!! But the most important part of that is you must believe first!! Gods grace is right in front of your face! Grab ahold of it now so that He can help you through your struggles!! He loves you enough to die on a cross for our sins, so why can't you thank him and confess that He is your Lord!

God is an artist

We are all proof that God is an artist. He took you and your sin. He made you clean, washed white with blood. You then became a canvas for Him to paint images of grace and glory upon. You became a a blank page for Him to write sonnets of peace and of love, and He named you worthy. You became a stone slab which He is now chipping away at, creating in you a new heart and shaping you into who you were always meant to be: His beautiful child. His Great Masterpiece.

Ask God For A New Perspective

This past month I have experienced some horrific news and watched some unpleasing things happen. God truly has opened my eyes and let me look at my whole life in a brand new perspective. Seeing how I had everything planned out the way I wanted, God quickly changed it all for me back In August. I wanted to move back to Tennessee for school and he told me No! Then I wanted to stay and go to a community college then move to Florida State to get a degree in Sports Broadcasting/ Journalism and he shut it all down for a reason. If I look back and picture myself finding out my mom had cancer and I was not living at home and in Bayside College, I truly don’t know where I would be today! God truly has a plan for each one of us and we all need to realize it and grab a hold of Him. Seeing the terrible accident and pictures I saw this week is preparing me for what I can see again in my future. I strongly believe that God had a reason for me to stop to show me how delicate our lives are and that through it all He is going to bless us all.

Looking at your life with a different perspective is so beneficial for your future so you are not blindsided when difficult things come your way. When life gets too hard to stand, kneel and beg God to show you everything in a different way. Romans 8:28 says “ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Every Struggle Has Reasoning

These past 2 months have been such a struggle for my family and I. God has wrecked me in so many ways, but through all of that I have received so much from God. I often asked God why are you bringing me through this? Why do I have to experience this, but then I thought He has brought us through this once and He is going to do it again. God is the ultimate healer and anything you ask for you shall receive. No prayer, no circumstances, no nothing is to big for Our God to handle.

Why not go?

Why do we always have the mentality of why would why I talk to this person? People are going to think I'm stupid and question what I am doing, but we always have to remember it's for the glory of God. He is the reason for it all and need grab ahold of every opportunity we get handed.

Life’s what you make it

Life is going to throw a lot of negative things your way, but God intends to use those things as fertilizer to enhance your walk with Him and expand His kingdom. Every person, every conversation, as well as every crazy situation, God has a reasoning behind it. If He didn’t want to challenge you and push you to be who He wants you to be, you wouldn’t deal with half the things you go through. God is so powerful and you never know what mysterious things He does to shape you into the person He made you out to be. Stop trying to control his works and sit back and let God do his work.

The Process

Waiting is the worst possible thing to do when you find out some devastating news. As most of you reading this know, last week my mom got diagnosed with lung, liver, and spinal cancer! She went in Tuesday for a biopsy to see what stage and what treatment is in store for her! We have to wait until Monday to find out more information. You know being in a ministry school you would think it would be easy to pray for people, but I was terrified to pray over my mom. All day Monday God kept telling me Go,Go,Go! I kept telling him God, I can't! What is she going to say when I just lay my hands on her? How is she going to react to me? Why do you choose me to do this? The time came and It was time for me to get over my fear! I walked in her room and said Hey, I feel like I need to pray over you!! Shockingly she was like okay let's go! I grabbed my dad and sat on her bed and started praying! 10 seconds in I heard sobbing and sniffling from my dad and her! I never knew how me sitting in front of them praying could make such an impact on our household!! God knew I would be chosen to sit in front of them on that day at that time praying over her! God is so good and can't wait for this just to be another part of a testimony! ❤️
