“Uh…” A smile began to curve his lips as he bashfully lowered his head. When he looked back up at Asher, the smile had turned into a full grin.“A boy. And ye named him ‘Junior’.”

“Believe me, no kid deserves to be named ‘Franklin’. It’s outdated. But if ye loike it…I guess I’ll be a’righ’ with it too.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Look, the doctor back then told me it’s nearly impossible for me to conceive, so..well, so far it’s been true. ‘xcept for Junior now. He’s literally a miracle.” And, strangely enough, he had never doubted him to be his son. “Did ye…a’ways wanna name him that, or has there been other options, too?”
Asher had to admit that Eric was right. Franklin wasn’t the best name to give a kid. It was a good thing it was his middle name not his first. “Hey, it’s not as if we’re going to call him that. Or call him Frank or Frankie or any nickname that comes from Franklin. He’s Junior. Your Junior!“ And she meant every word of that. He was Eric’s junior and no one could take that away from him or Eric. "I’ve never really believed doctors when they stay stuff such as that. They can only tell you what the statistics say. Not what might and could happen. He is a miracle. Our miracle and who’s to say we can have another one. If I remember correctly we are very good at the act of trying,” she teased, unable to hide the smile on her lips.
Asher thought about Eric’s question for a moment before answering. “Before I found out he was a boy I thought about naming him after my father but the moment the technician said it’s a boy during my ultrasound I looked at the screen and saw my little Eric. Then when they handed him to me after he was born I took one look and there was no doubt what his name was. He looks just like you, dear. He’s your mini-me.”
