WE ARE SO BACK BABYYYYYY ✨💖✨
Just got back from the re-release of Fury Road. I had to snap a picture when Richard Carter’s name came up in the credits.
Always my inspiration, and forever in my heart. 💙 🩵
In loving memory of Richard Carter. He would have been 67 as of December 11th. We’re all grateful for his many wonderful performances, and we wish his family the best during these difficult times.
Happy Birthday to Richard Carter
Today would have been his 66th birthday. Wishing his family and friends peace and healing. ❤️
Richard Carter as Det. Ted Hudson in White Collar Blue!
Season 1, Episode 10
The way Hudson yells “Joe! JOE!” will never get old lmao
About a week has passed since the tremendous loss of Richard Carter. I’ve had time to gather some thoughts, and now, I want to make a more candid statement. So here’s the deal. Work, along with the incapacitation of someone dear to me, has eaten my virtually every facet of my life, and I haven’t maintained a proper posting schedule. That said, I can’t let the last post on this blog be about Richard Carter’s passing. It’s what comes up when you google his name, and I don’t want that to be what people see when they click onto this blog — that simply doesn’t do him justice. This blog’s raison d'être has always been to celebrate his career, and that’s what I want it to always be.
This man was a legend. If you follow this blog, then there’s a 99% chance that you were captivated by his performance as the Bullet Farmer. And you’ve seen his range — from snarling serial killer to the world’s most adorable stepdad. You’ve seen how his acting could make plain cornflakes seem like magic, or turn a yogurt commercial into a comedy skit. He went all-out with every single role, no matter how briefly seen, and made those characters memorable. Whether it was a sidelong glance, a perturbed stare, or a menacing glare, he didn’t even need lines to make an impression.
And when he did speak, oh boy! He had a gorgeous, lively voice, full of personality. Whether he was hamming it up as The Meriff in Borderlands, playing a protective elephant seal dad, or doing the voice-over for VB beer, he elevated every project he was in with his deep, Aussie badass voice that... Also had a lot of heart and warmth.
This blog will remain, not only as a memorial, but as resource and hub for his fans, both present and future. Whenever people experience Fury Road, many of these viewers also discover Mr. Carter. And when they Google his name — just as I did, as soon I got out of the theater after seeing Fury Road — I want them to have a visual resource that catalogues his work. I want them to be wowed by the vast and varied roles he’s played, just as I was.
I know it’s cliche, but I want to thank the hundreds of you who’ve joined with me to celebrate Mr. Carter’s life and work. Thank you to the Mad Max fandom, everyone who follows this blog, and every last person who visits from Google. And most of all, thank you, Richard Carter, for sharing your talents, charisma, and kindness with us.

Goodbye, Mr. Carter
It’s with deep regret and a heavy heart that I’m bringing you the news that Richard Carter has passed away at the age of 65 after a brief illness.
Mr. Carter was more than an amazing actor that brought us unforgettable characters. He was a truly wonderful, lovely, kind person. The world — and my world — has been so much better thanks to having him in it. He was amazingly sweet and generous towards me, and I’ll always treasure his kindness. I can only express my deepest condolences to his fans, friends, and most of all, family.
Thank you, Mr. Carter.
I love your blog!! You post the most coolest, epic stuff!!
Awww, thank you so much! 💖

I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I do know who’s gonna be my favorite character from like, two seconds of screen time.
Mad Max : Fury Road (2015)
OKAY YOU ALL KNOW THIS BUT I have to say, Richard Carter has a *glorious* voice.

Starting a new job tomorrow!
I’m excited to be starting a new full-time job tomorrow (1/07). I’ll be a content writer/editor for a large software development company. This company specializes in software for the automotive industry, so I’ll get to write about car-related stuff on a daily basis and get paid, too! I’m really thrilled to have a full-on professional gig with all the benefits that come with it. Opportunities like that aren’t common in the Rust Belt American Midwest.
The company has a notoriously rigorous screening process, with tons of tests and interviews. And yes, during the (many) interviews, when they asked about my hobbies and interests, I mentioned Mad Max - and what I’ve done on Tumblr. And they were... Uh, pleased..? That’s the only word I can conjure to describe the reaction.
So anyway... Blogging is what helped seal the deal. ;D
Huge thank you to Richard Carter and everyone who visits RCF!

Full disclosure: I’m not one of the content contributors. However, I pledged money to fund the project.

Keays-Byrne [Immortan Joe] says that working in all that impressive-looking gear is harder than it may appear to the viewer. “Imagine somebody gets on of those bulletproof riot shields and then molds it so that’s the carapace, back and front like medieval armor. Basically, it’s a sort of Plexiglas, bulletproof medieval armor with a breathing mask which is there to perpetuate that thing of the Immortan, the god immortal, ‘I’m here for you, the people.’”
McCarthy puts the Bullet farmer, played by Richard Carter, most succinctly: “[He] is an absurdist weapons dealer. It’s the idea of the weapons manufacturer gone insane.”
As for the Bullet Farmer’s look, storyboard artist Adam Sexton credits McCarthy with doing the first designs for the character. “The early inception of what the character looked like [was] the big headpiece with the bullets festooning every part of his costume, the idea of the judge’s wig covered in ammo and long trench coat all combined in a quite striking design. It was all about the accoutrements of weaponry.”
