My first ever collage on king Richard iii 👑
Mix - Cousins war and Richard iii
Well searched books on Richard iii . If you want to know more about him . Who is the actual Richard iii ??
Soooo manyyyyy to know about him .
Again mix . But you have to read this , to know actually who he was ??
Elizabeth of York, fashion character design, c. 1482.
What Edward iv would have thought about his youngest brother for upsurping the crown from his son Edward v ?
What do you think ?
He probably would have felt betrayed. He would have expected his Most Loyal Brother to hush up the bigamy story and crown Edward V anyway.
'Take a word of advice, even from three foot nothing. Try not to associate bodily defects with mental, my good friend, except for a solid reason.' -Charles Dickens, David Copperfield
Well, I am finally reading The King's Mother, and by far the aspect I'm most enjoying is the portrayal of Richard as The Favourite Golden Child.
Why Richard iii called his wife Anne nevile " My most beloved consort " ?
Because she was his beloved consort.
And for parity’s sake — here’s some equally choice content on Edward IV:
- in 1473, he made a truce with Scotland. So far, so normal for a fifteenth century monarch.
- The truce was still in place in 1476, when Edward decided it would be a great idea to complain publicly about the Scots being incorrigible truce-breakers… even though this one had held for three years.
- Well. Three guesses what happened next.
“The reasons why I fell out of love with H&M: 1. continued use of their titles and titles for their kids despite not supporting the royal family. 2. very very little charitable work. They are so far below their potential as „humanitarians“ and are not at all living up to the statement they made when they left the Britain. 3. no follow-through. 4. They have started so many initiatives and attached themselves to so many causes but it’s hardly ever more than one public appearance. they have never distanced themselves from their worst supporters but expect others to defend them all the time. Be the change you want to see in the world. And I hope that they are not speaking out about the horrific African Parks scandal because they are working on/with an official investigation behind the scenes. If not, this should be the nail in the coffin for their reputation.” - Submitted by Anonymous
A choice selection of comments made about the royal couple in the 1440s-50s:
- arguments that the king wasn’t a strong enough leader to have his picture on coins
- accusations of madness even before 1453
- “woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child.”
- “the king is nowt”
- “the king is a sheep”
- “the qwene is nowt abil to be quene”
and
- claims that it would have been better had the king never been born at all.
I have to laugh at the audacity… and also to wince 😭
why almost every media featuring richard iii exclude edward of middleham (his son) existence? it adds so much to his character
