When the death toll for Gaza goes up from disease, Israel will claim deniability, that those deaths were not deliberate and calculated. You see it with how settlers will talk about the genocide of Natives, that most of us "just died from disease then colonizers 'accidentally spread'". It is NEVER an accident. To try to sum up the grim situation in Gaza right now:

Israel orders Gazans to flee, then bombs where it sends them

There is also another wide communications shut down going on, so people have no way of even checking if their loved ones are alive or not, and no one can contact ambulances or civil defence either to report bombings and injuries or casualties

But even if the call goes through, where would they be taken to anyway? Doctors Without Borders warns that the situation is dire and hospitals are at risk of going out of service due to the lack of fuel and supplies, while the general director of the ministry of health in Gaza announced that all northern Gaza hospitals are out of service already.

In the end, even if they're left to die, which is a common case now unfortunately, there are literally no spaces to bury them as burial grounds are full.

I should add that because of all of this, the numbers of people killed by Israeli shelling have not been updated properly since November 10! as the ministry of health in Gaza can't get to many of the bodies or get contacted from areas where communications had been cut off. It's reported that many bodies are being buried in mass graves without being identified or without their families present. This is as of December 6, 2023.

Hey, you are not an embarrassment for not knowing how to do certain household chores/basic self-care. They do not come naturally to us. A lot of it takes practice! Maybe you had a neglectful guardian. Maybe you had one that was very coddling and never thought to teach you. Maybe you haven't lived in a place where these things were available to you or needed. Doesn't matter. It's okay to not know and far more common than you might realise.

That said, this website provides very simple instructions on how to do everyday tasks such as making your bed, using a washing machine, cooking different foods, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. All you have to do is use the search bar to find the task you're struggling with, and it'll come up with what you need + other related how-to's:)

you know how it's possible to be taught a phobia as a kid by the adults around you and phobias can be passed down this way? like, if your parents are deathly afraid of spiders, then you can inherit that by learning it from them? and now seeing a spider can be a traumatic event when it otherwise wouldn't have been?

I think western society has developed a cultural phobia around sex and nudity and stuff. like, obviously, I have no doubt this has been said before. but I have to say that to get to my main point here... is sexuality inherently traumatizing? or do you just have a phobia? is seeing someone in a pup mask or in a harness inherently traumatizing? or is it triggering your learned phobia, and that's what the source of the unpleasantness really is?

like, I get it, I used to have extreme arachnophobia and couldn't even look at pictures of spiders without getting extremely afraid. but I also worked on that phobia, am still working on that phobia. now I get excited to see lots of different types of spiders! I still get squeamish about certain types, even in photos still, but I've put lots of work into it and have gotten better

basically, phobias can be a source of trauma that isn't the fault of the subject of the phobia, and if you have a phobia of something you have to put in the work to get more comfortable with it instead of expecting it to disappear entirely

We are afraid so we don’t develop a complex way to talk about sex and we don’t have a way to talk about sex so we are afraid.
