Feeling patriotic today–thought I’d show you guys some vietnamese folk costumes that have recently been on the runways. The traditional dresses (ao dai) that are worn at festivals, baptisms, holidays, etc. are usually simpler in terms of patterns and designs. While there are other traditional dresses in Vietnam, the ao dai is by far the most popular.

Many dresses in the international fashion world today utilize aspects of the ao dai in their designs, and the dress is heralded for it’s modest yet bodice-fitting style.
