I LOVE TALKING ABOUT MY FAV FICS so am incredibly up for this.
Part 1: If you write fics, talk about a favorite scene in one of your fics or wips that you loved writing!! Go into as much detail as you like - what inspired it, what you enjoyed about it, any music or playlists you listened to while writing - anything you want to share.
OKAY SO i would have to say that my favorite scene i’ve ever written has to be from my oneshot (not currently posted), where briar stripper blush flirts with nini and myki crashes out lmao. i don’t think i’d written a character experience a volatile display of emotion yet and jealousy is probably my favorite one to write if it fits the plot well. i liked it because myki to me (depending on the au obviously) keeps her cards pretty close to her chest. she’s a master of conveying only the emotions she wants displayed, but i think if something she cares about is threatened (take her in the rate a queen episode as an example) she gets really fiery!!! and with this comes a very human inconsistency in her words and actions so i absolutely love that. i enjoyed writing that scene in particular too because the visuals were my favorite. i had looked up very specific reference pictures for the room layout and filled in the gaps with what i considered picturesque ^_^ i was listening to slut! by taylor swift and all of charli’s true romance. it was perfect for setting the scene, and i remember feeling like i was on a roll when i wrote it, which lasted throughout the rest of the fic. it was the first time i *felt* like i could really write and that rewarding feeling hasn’t worn off :))
Part 2: Then talk about at least one favourite scene from someone else's work or wip that you have enjoyed reading, what you loved most about it, and tag their fic and show them some love. You can talk about as many works and scenes as you like!!
IT’S SO HARD TO NARROW THESE DOWN
- quiet undoings by soundgardenz: hands down my favorite moment from this was nini writing myki a sweet lil note that read: “Thank you, Princess. Sleep tight. Nico.”
pure and completely lovely. tugged at my heartstrings like nothing else. just thought it was so adorable and probably one of the earlier times nini’s gone out of her way for miss princess just because she wanted to. i love them i’m obsessed with them.
- she’s sweet like candy in my veins by sapphire_to_the_rain: nini offering to carryyy myki because she’s stupid and whipped. she’s down so bad and it kills me. ALSO LOOK AT THIS SWEET AS PIE DIALOGUE:
“You would never drop me,” she murmurs.
This is a good point, Nini thinks. “No, I wouldn’t.”
- coming up roses! by blondetonight: so this one was really special because like she says it is a nini coco character study. a masterclass in it in fact. there’s a specific line that really stuck out to me and stayed with me:
“and one of her yellow laces has come loose and squiggly on the floor. Nini thinks about telling her, but Myki’s shirt has already been unbuttoned and her hair is unscrewed from the pinned bun she wore onstage tonight. So maybe, she should let her be undone.”
i think this part in particular is so special because it’s such an intimate thought that isn’t grandiose. that instinctually nini looks for imperfections and things that need to be “fixed” but she puts that aside because she wants to let myki be messy and human. so precious.
- the winner takes it all by almostsweetmusic: the entire end scene of chapter 2. i mean what a way to end it. i think the devastation of nini messing up her routine and myki feeling like she needs to take matters into her own hands and win FOR THEM did truly evil things to my brain that can’t be undone. and nini cryinggg poor kity </3
