His hands are always dirty, caked with drying and dried paint in all sorts of colors, green as rich as the grass outside of his studio apartment finding its way up between his fingers, red splotched across the back of his hands, a pale purple around his wrists–he’s not a neat sort of painter, doesn’t often use paintbrushes or any other medium but his hands, fingers, wrists, the heel of his palm, scratching at the paint with his nails until a gray color is caked under them.
