Fragtime Anime to Release Production Books to Raise Money for Unpaid Animators

In late November Tear Studio’s parent company, Next Batters Circle Co., Ltd,  went bankrupt. This bankruptcy left the animators who worked on the theatrical Yuri OVA Fragtime unpaid.

On December 27, a statement was uploaded to Fragtime’s official website announcing that three books with production material would be created and sold to raise funds for the unpaid animators. In the post on the site, Pony Canyon and the Fragtime Production Committee state that they have already fulfilled their obligations to Tear Studio, but that they were “deeply distressed by the recent situation” and hope to provide “even a slight recovery.”

The three books are, in order, a book of original artwork based on the OVA, storyboards from the anime, and a copy of the script. All three volumes will be released on March 31, 2020, and sell for 3,100 yen ($30).
