Chelsea Pereira-Swainson A Dream Come True - Sapphire’s Journey Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of owning my own horse

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of owning my own horse but believed that it would never actually happen. As the years went by, my self confidence & mental health fell to rock bottom because of constant years of bullying in school and I turned to horses as my form of therapy. Every day after school you could find me at the stables hanging out with the horses & helping where I could. They were and still are my safe space where I feel at peace.

Now at the age of 24, I own a beautiful mare of my own named Sapphire. She is a 3 year old APHA mare and is super friendly, sweet, cuddly and catches on to things quickly. She is my world even though we haven’t met yet (I did fly out to see her but there was a problem with her transport & I just missed her by a day as I had to go back for work).

Sapphire is my dream come true, I have to pinch myself to remember that this is real. She’s one of the main reasons I can keep pushing forward, to keep on living. To keep fighting and getting up every day and believing in myself. She is my hope, a dream come true and an anchor all in one. I can’t wait to finally be able to have her with me and be able to start our adventure together.

Her journey will start from Canada where she will have to fly to Europe then take the euro tunnel in a lorry to Wales. I’m doing photography and other things on the side to raise money along with my job to bring her here. However with Brexit on the horizon, if it does go through the price will go up but we don’t know how much so anything would be helpful and very appreciated.
