I am very normal about tokusatsu, especially kamen rider and ESPECIALLY especially decade.
Notes
I intend to reblog things a lot of stuff here. Most of which things relate to my interests jej
I post less serious art/doodles, rambles, and in general things that would otherwise not fit on my other blog(s). You can find the tags for such posts here!
Probably comes out of left field to say this but I may as well say it: Please do not involve me in any fandom discourse, ESPECIALLY if it's ship-related. Leave me to my lotions.
Regardless, I hope you have a good time here! You can check out my main art account at @th3rdeye-artistry!
arguably the best track in Ghost Trick is the one titled "Trauma" and it gets everyone so hyped up the second it plays but out of context it makes Twitch chat look like a bunch of sadistic fucks
"maybe i'll yap about the storyline in general at some point who knows" They said, decided to immediately go yapping now cuz they love their lil gal.
I'm putting this in a long post under cut jic but also there's some shit here that's def prone to being changed cuz idk how proud I am of some bits BUT ANYWAYS THE LUNA LORE[tm].
So to start of, i've had the idea that this is all starts when Luna, most likely by accident, finds the Nox Driver + Shadow Capsem, somethng I imagine Odaka had been hiding from her and Senji for years since he feared what'd happen if they started getting curious (I believe the kids call this "foreshadowing"?)
So of course, Luna brings the Capsem to him and, being an only slightly rebellious teenager, starts asking questions on what that stuff is, maybe even because she's always been confused about why her Papa seemed to be so damn concerned with her, especially as she was getting ever closer to adulthood.
Odaka promptly starts refusing to answer, insisting that it's something she doesn't have to know about. Luna does try to stay calm and chipper while attempting to pry, but soon enough the question devolve into an argument between the two and Luna lashing out at him about it maybe even with a like "I'm not your little girl anymore, Papa! Quit treating me like one!" and that'd be the last time they'd properly talk for a while, as after that Luna just kinda tries to avoid him in anyway she can and just ignores him when possible.
Following that (though not exactly right away), Luna finds herself looking out at the dream world before being addressed by a voice. One asking about her problems and plights. Once Luna opens up there's a response:
"Well truly him the others don't understand you! You're a bird who wants to be free and they're just trying to keep you caged! ...You know what? I think I have an idea..."
Again, things don't go into motion right away, but I'd imagine one evening, Luna says she gonna go off and do something, to which she's met with questions of concern from Senji and Hikaru, leading her to respond "Don't worry! I'll be back before you know it!"
Luna goes missing for a day or two. Only then is her body found. not lifeless, but unresponsive. Asleep if you will. With her family watching over her in the hospital, Odaka immediately connects the dots.
It's a nightmare. A black case.
He promptly tries to go find her in the dream world and, yes he finds her, but lets just say what he finds is his worst nightmare since she was born:
Up until now, Luna looked the same in the dream world as she did in the real world, but now there was a difference: A white streak in her black hair...and some sinister piercing cyan eyes that now just taunted him about his "darling daughter". From there, a belt manifests, the Nightmare Invoker, along with a new capsem. Using these together she becomes the pseudo rider Blood Lune.
And yeah this leads to a hand-on-hand combat between the two, though Nox isn't exactly on his A-game for the fight, both in refusing to use Midnight Shadow or, if he has is, (insert name of V-Cinema form here) and in fighting cuz well. It may be a nightmare, but it's a nightmare puppeteering his daughter. And I don't think he wants to risk killing his eldest
He does KIND OF managed to go in for a finisher, but stops before it can connect when the nightmare toys with him by taking on Luna's voice. "Papa...help me...". Obviously the Nightmare beats him up and hits him with Blood Lune's own finisher when the opening shows itself.
The capsem disappears and "Luna"/the nightmare returns to normal (or as normal as she/it can be right now) and gets one more taunt at him about being a shit parent before fucking off (not without also introducing itself as the "Eclipse Nightmare".
After that, Odaka probably does end up questioning everything for a while cuz yeah. Maybe he is a bit of a shit parent. If he just put his fear aside and actually opened up about being a Kamen Rider, Luna wouldn't be in this situation. Luckily he's still got Fujimi at his side who's more than willing to reassure him and help pick him back up off the ground. And from there a string of a plan is set off.
Cue getting the crew together with one goal: Construct a driver to, hopefully, help Luna face her own fears head on. A decision that, of course, is not made lightly, but is inevitable agreed on.
So while the Lune Driver is being created, Zeztz and Nox go back to the dream world to pursue the Eclipse Nightmare. Once again, a fright breaks out against Blood Lune, but now as a two against one, and on top of that, Baku has a trump card: the Dualmare Capsem.
Effectively, like Minami and the Cat Nightmare
Once Nox gives Zeztz and opening, he uses it's power to rip Luna from the Nightmare. Miraculously (or not), the Nightmare survives, albeit clearly weakened, and manages to escape, now being at a point where they could find Luna and get her back at any time.
This is where the scene of that one art piece I made takes place: thanks to Baku making use of the ExDream Capsem on Nox, Luna learns the truth about her papa and why he's so protective of her and refused to open up about being a hero. The two of them are able to find a place to forgive each other and make amends after Luna is shown that stuff.
But it's not over yet. The Eclipse Nightmare is still out there and is on the hunt for Luna once the day arrives.
Luckily, by then the Lune Driver is constructed. No capsem, but luckily Odaka has some he's willing to part with briefly. Now he has to make the hard decision to equip Luna with the belt on her hospital bed. It's scary and he almost wants to stop last second, but the fact she'd be in more danger now without is enough to put all of his personal fears, worries and pains aside, as now more than ever, entrusting her with a belt and capsem is the only way to keep her safe.
In the dream world, Luna's been chased by the Eclipse Nightmare and, just as it seems she's going to be caught onces more, something deflect it: the Lune Driver, now equipped around her belt.
And in her hand? The Shadow Capsem. The same one that kickstarted this entire thing.
With her newfound peace of mind knowing the people whole love her want to help her rather than hold her back. She tells the Eclipse Nightmare one thing before transforming:
"I'll face my own fears! And that's a promise!"
And cue the transformation into Kamen Rider Lune! Not her true base form ofc, but still incredibly significant.
From there, the Eclipse Nightmare is royally fucked. Not being in control combine with being weakened from it's last battle with the riders, it's safe to say the moment it saw that black and white rabbit rider, it's fate was sealed.
Cue a battle followed by devastating finisher, and the Eclipse Nightmare is done for, but not before Luna gives a lil speech about how she feels even more like she "made it out the other end" and that she's going to use her newfound powers to protect and inspire hope in others.
Out in the real world. Everyone was watching with baited breath on if Luna would wake up. Cue of shocked relief as that ever familiar purple butterfly leaves her body and she starts to regain conciousness.
Her parents are relived, her family and friends are relived. And now she's a sobbing mess that repeatedly apologizing for being an idiot.
But she's just a teenager, after all. Sure she now has the responsibility of a Kamen Rider, but here's the thing: there are people willing to help her through it, both in the real world and dream world. People who want her to be the best version of herself in a new normal like this.
Like how the darkness is what makes an eclipse the spectacle that it is.
38./40. What is the most recurring theme in your OC's nightmares?/What is your OC afraid of?
I'm choosing the lump these together because I feel they could be put in a similar. I guess a reoccurring setting for the nightmare could be a sort of school (maybe even the one he goes to in the real world?), a very key difference being, while in another school-set dream in show had actual students.
It's just Senji.
sure there are sounds of other students and teacher, but that's all it is: sound. As far as anyone is concerned, he's the only one visible. And that's kinda the reoccuring theme and feeling: Isolation.
That irrational feeling that, sure while he wants to stand out as himself, he's worried that others would rather not see him, if that makes sense. He fears to others, he might as well be invisible.
Yes, this is not helped that much when Kamen Rider Lune hits the scene. if anything it kinda messes further with that insecurity of a fear of going unnoticed, now amplified with the worry of all eyes being on his sister.
Might be selfish, but then again this is a 14-year old boy we're talking about so emotions are no doubt everywhere and even in the worst places.
Gonna put this under cut jic also idk how well I responded the the questions but ah well! Development of ideas is development of ideas!

2. How does your OC remember their childhood? Is this an accurate reflection of what their childhood was actually like?
This'll come as a surprise, but I don't believe her EARLY childhood was completely smooth. Personally, I'd say that to call Fujimi and Nox's experience raising Luna (and to that extent, Senji) rocky in the beginning would be a partial understatement. Shit was hard for them which had some affect on their kids but they were pretty determined to push through and give the two a good life.
I feel Luna would absolutely acknowledge that despite seeming like "the normal girl" but probably would attribute her parent's determination to her own personal outlooks.

24. What is your OC like when they're upset?
She usually tries to just grin an bear it, but that whole facade can be cracked pretty easily if pushed enough. She'll often be more silent compared to her usual "loud and goofy" attitude and maybe will end up a crying blubbering mess depending on the situation she's put in.
--
37. What is the most common feeling or emotion in your OC's life?
Happiness, i guess. Kindness and optimism are a big part of her own values, what with her wanting to see the best in others and later on, with her wanting to inspire hope in others after she becomes Lune.

38. What is the most recurring theme in your OC's nightmares?
Being held back.
Before embracing it in a more positive way, the Eclipse her nightmare is modelled after is kinda, in a sense, feeling like the people around might not be good for her full potential (Her "Light" being obscured by their "darkness" if you will.)
Diverting a bit from the question since I mentioned the "more postivie view" but when she's finally able to take on her Nightmare and defeat it on her own terms, the symbolism is alot different: An eclipse is a rare natural phenomenon that is a genuine spectacle, meaning that that, if her loved ones are the "darkness" then it's a kind one, not a malicious one. One that would rather help he shine as more of a spectacle than what she would've already been!
