Making the trip to Confluence Park In San Antonio, TX is a bit of an uneasy experience. The location of the park is what we San Antonioans call the “Southside,” and that’s the wrong side to be or so I thought. Looking at the surrounding neighborhood, I felt that I had to be watching my back constantly but once I made it to the park, that uneasiness melted. Seeing the structure from afar you are felt in awe. Moving towards the structure is a bit like a religious experience, once within you feel nothing but peace and tranquility. Your tranquil mind is meet with a sound of running water, which is the echoing of the river nearby. Once underneath of structures highest point, you get the sense of being underwater. The surrounding arches seem to represent the stones that the water goes through and cause the flowing sound of water. It’s an experience that should not be missed if near San Antonio.
