Since my father was given away, he didn’t get paid for all the work he did with his new ’employers’. He lived with, ya know, white people, and because they never let him in the house, he never learned Spanish.

They neglected him—>he had no clothes/didn’t bathe—>they were disgusted—>they neglected him more.

My father and uncles helped my grandma do the heavy work, but when they got bigger and bigger, that bitch ass rich person said she didn’t work enough for what she was paid

She ended up having to give away my dad to another man just so he wouldn’t go hungry. Fuck that shit

My dad was an orphan born in Santa Rosa Chucuyub, El Quiche

He was left with a small patch of corn, but when that ran out, my grandma took him and his two brothers to Uspantan. She worked as a servant to the towns richest family.

Life is a bitch. But, I’ve had a lot of really good times. That being said, it’s hard to remember everything that’s happened to me.

But even though I don’t remember all the details, the important thing is that my people do. What happened to me happened to all other poor Guatemalans. We all know what went down.
