“If I were you I wouldn’t say that, it could be you who ends up on the ground.” He nudged her slightly, putting on his skate and securing them so they weren’t too loose or too tight. “I am.” He said, standing up and feeling taller than ever. He reached for her hand so they could both walk to the rink and support each other at the same time. “You telling me not to smile is like telling a kid to cry when they get a new toy. Besides, how could I not smile when I’m spending a nice afternoon with my girlfriend?” He smirked slightly and put one foot onto the ice as his free hand grabbed onto the rail. “Step onto the ice and hold onto the rail as well. I got you just incase.”
“ You know what I mean. ” Riley muttered as she carefully watched Thomas step onto the ice. It was slightly freaking her out, but she knew that if Thomas was able to do it, surely she’d be fine too. Of course he had experience and she had none, but that didn’t matter too much if she’d be able to stay up. “ Okay, don’t laugh. ” Riley said before she held onto the rail, getting ready to get onto the ice herself. Setting her foot onto the ice was definitely something she’d never experienced before. It was slippery for sure, and she suddenly wasn’t so sure of her ability to stay up anymore. Especially when the second foot joined. She held onto the rail with both hands as she made sure she stayed up. “ Don’t tell me I actually have to do something to move. ”
