Death wasn’t all that uncommon in the world, and, if you narrowed it down to Queens, it happened on a daily basis. It was a part of the circle of life, and all that nonsense, and, for the most of it, Sam and the rest of her office left it all for the PD to deal with. However, once the call came in, she wasted no time, dropping everything she was doing and driving off to the crime scene, only to met with another gruesome, public murder. They’ve been tracking the person responsible for months now, yet, every single time, miraculously, they were gone, without a trace. Only this time, there was a witness. After being pointed out to the person, Sam walked over to them, barely glancing over at the covered body on her way. “Hi- I’m Agent Redfield, with FBI.” She flashed her badge, for a brief moment, studying the person for a moment. Their possible ptsd be damned, for now. “I would like to ask you a few questions.
Having insomnia was inconvenient sometimes, especially at that current moment. Riley should have been at home with Alexander, making his boyfriend smile sleepily as they climbed into bed for a nap. However, he’d needed some space, and as such, went for a walk. One that turned interesting. Riley shouldn’t have stayed. He should have left as soon as the other did, done with their crime. But no, the blood had drawn them in and now they were being approached, by someone annoyingly important looking. Riley sighed softly, and looked away from the covered body, pursing his lips. “Do you have to?” He asked, voice strained, but not for reasons the agent would probably think.

The moment his eyes settled on the person in the doorway, Finn felt a cold shock run through his system. It had been a long time since he’d seen those eyes. They didn’t look as cold and shark-like as he sometimes remembered them. Finn forced himself through the slog of red flags in his brain and put a smile on his face. “You’re certainly right about that.” He nodded with a breathy chuckle that sounded ever so slightly hollow. “How long has it been, almost a year? Since we ran into each other on the street? You look good. Healthy.” Finn took a step closer to Riley and a ran a hand through his hair. “I’ve been alright. Working mostly. Back to firefighting, obviously. And you? Everything alright on your end? Any, uh, big new things going on?”
Riley reveled in the shock that he could see on Finn’s face. It was always thrilling to see the fear flash through someone’s eyes as they recognized him. He didn’t say anything about the empty laugh or forced smile. Finn was well aware what he could do, but he didn’t have any initial intentions to freak the other out. “About that long, yeah. Thank you. You do as well, Finnegan,” he smirked. “I see that. How’s that been going?” Riley shrugged, leaning against the entrance. “Oh, life is just peachy,” he replied, lips pulled into an impish grin. “I just finished school for the year, and I’m working in the same bar. Alexander is back though, that is nice.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you around Charlie. And listen, hey, if you keep lifting like that, you’re going to give me a run for my money.” Finn winked and laughed. Charlie smiled and flexed a little before waving and walking out of the station. As he waved goodbye to his coworker, Finn collected his jacket out of his locker and prepared to head home. The firefighter was tired after a long shift, but his demeanor was happy nevertheless. Just when he closed his locker he caught sight of a pair of eyes looking his way. “Oh hey! Was I, uh, supposed to be expecting you?”
“I don’t think you’re ever expecting me, Finnegan,” Riley replied, smiling at the fact that he had caught the other offguard. It had been pure coincidence that he stumbled upon Finn’s familiar voice while walking about the city. Riley hadn’t really had any plans, other than to give Alexander space to do their work, but this seemed a mighty fine idea. Catching up with Finn would be fun. “How have you been?”
why were you in the hospital?
For a mental disorder that I have. I’m out now, so obviously it’s better managed. Why does it matter?
are you afraid of anything? if so, why?
I fear nothing.
Who's hurt you the most?
No one.
My parents.
Is there anything about society that you enjoy?
No. Society is a virus to the human population.
Do you give second chances?
No. If you can’t prove you’re not an idiot with the first chance, I don’t feel like wasting my time on a second.
Last song you listened to?
I don’t know. I think Alexander was listening to something earlier but I wasn’t paying attention. I don’t listen to music if I don’t have to
