Oh, well then. I am sorry but I am pleased for you that you are making a good recovery.
Thanks. It’s really great that it’s healing, but it was gross when they took the cast off. Not a sight anyone wanted to see.

I’m glad to hear that you’re doing better.
Thanks! It’s super nice to be able to get around better now.
How have you been?
Good luck with the physical therapy!
Thanks! I’m sure it’s gonna be hard, but I’m just glad to not be on crutches anymore.
Off? Did something happen? Did you fall off the cliffs as well?
Surfing accident back in July. I broke my leg and was in a cast, but I got it off this morning. I still got to take it easy and wear a boot for just a few more weeks, but therapy is gonna start and I’m gonna be back at it before I know it.
It’s finally off! Now I’ve got to do some physical therapy, but I will be back at it slowly but surely.
First Date Redo; Chess & Riley

“Definitely a better surprise than having to wake up at six in the morning. I don’t need a bucket of coffee to see the bright side of this surprise.” Chester laughed, sighing softly. “I’m trying to convince him to let me sleep when we head back to New York if he ends up traveling there as well, but I’m not sure on how well that’ll go.” At the suggestion that he should be the one to find where they should stay, Chess nodded, pausing to take a drink. “I’ll start looking this week, compare prices, decide on what we wanna be close to, I’m sure you and my folks will get on swimmingly, but I think it’s best to have a place of our own to get away from them soon as we get tired of the extra company.” He let out a laugh, nodding quickly as she requested a trip out to see her folks before a return to the city they’d be settling down in. “Absolutely, I gotta try my best to convince them I was a good decision too.” he joked, sighing softly. “I hope they like self depreciation and bad puns, because I’m notoriously horrible at first impressions.” He smiled at the peck on the cheek and returned the affection with a press of his lips to her temple. “Well then we’ll have to bring one of the cooks home with us too, because I might be a passable chef but I’m horrible at accidentally burning dinner when it counts- we might be eating takeout a lot. Well Jace did an impressive job, and while I have no intention of telling him about the chinchilla petting zoo, I will keep it on the back burner as something I need to do. Claim out, buy a place, settle down, get back to work, maybe start a family and get Jace a chinchilla zoo. Maybe not in that order, but a to-do list nonetheless.”
“I completely agree,” Riley nodded, unable to wipe the smile off her face as she sat beside Chester, eating their dinner as the talked. It was always easy with him and Riley loved that. It just felt right, like they were meant to be. “I hope he will. Though he and I had a conversation about the fact that we need to get a big enough bed for him to come over and cuddle with us. I mean, that is if he ends up in New York too,” A shrug to her shoulders, popping a grape into her mouth and chewing it as he reassured her that she’d get along with his parents. Riley was more worried about getting along with his other siblings, feeling as if they would be harder critics than his parents would be. She did feel like she made a good impression with the two who came to visit a few months back, but there was always doubt in her mind that they wouldn’t think Riley and Chester were right for each other. She let out a small laugh, shaking her head. “My dad will love you no matter what....and my mom, well, she doesn’t like anyone so I think if she did like you there’d be more of a problem there.” Her relationship with her mom had been strained for years and she was used to it by now, even though she still wanted her mom’s approval, it felt like she’d never get it. “Take out is fine by me, but maybe if I actually tried cooking, I could learn something about it. Who knows?” She took another bite of her dinner as Chester continued on, sharing the to-do list he had in his mind and she stopped, looking at him when he mentioned starting a family. “Kids? You want to start right away?”

How many straws we talking here?
You’ll just have to wait and see.
PM: Thanks, sunshine. I miss you. You're the best, you know that? Of course you do.
PM: You’re welcome! I miss you too. Oh shush. You know you are too.
@katherine-hurst
Okay you need to calm down because that is way too crazy for me, party girl.
Oh you haven’t seen anything yet.
PM: No, no. He seemed as surprised to see me as I was seeing him. Which hurts more? I don't know. Fuuuuck. Yeah, yeah that's a good idea too. Thanks, sunshine.
PM: It sucks, Kat. I’m really sorry. But you deserve better than him. Of course! Just let me know what you need.

“I love it though.” Chess laughed, then nodded. “Oh trust me- I know how much Jace loves surprises, he does tend to ‘surprise’ me every morning with his presence.” He leaned his head into her hand lightly, smiling wider. “We should probably start looking for somewhere to live when we leave here, right? I mean I love my folks, but I don’t think the best introduction to them would be having to sleep in their guest room the second we get back- you’d lose out on a lot of sleep.” He couldn’t help but let out a laugh at the idea, grinning wider before digging into his dinner, speaking again after a few bites. “Okay- I want to know to who a soul was sold for food this good, and how I trade my own off to get the same ability, so I can make this for myself instead of box macaroni.” He smiled, sighing happily and taking a look around. “You and Jace really did outdo yourselves this time, I’m going to have to get you back somehow. Some kind of big party for the best girlfriend ever, and like, a petting zoo for Jace. Filled with chinchillas. I think I’d probably ascend to a god status for chinchilla petting zoo.”
“Me too,” Riley beamed, laughing a little. “That he does. This surprise was a little better than the ones in the morning.” She was teasing. By now, riley was used to the morning wake up calls from Jace. No matter how much the two of them tried not to wake up Riley, they always managed to do it. She only hoped that when they got to New York they might become more rare. “We do. I don’t know New York though, so you have to tell me what neighborhood to look in and honestly, cost is not an issue,” She told him. “And I’m sure I’ll love your folks too, but you’re probably right. We should have our own place ready for us to move into when we get there....Do you think when we leave here before we go to New York that we could try to go to Newport to see my parents?” It was a long shot that they would actually be in town, but Riley really wanted her dad to meet Chester. She let him take a few bites before she dug in herself and smiled at his comment. “Actually, I got it from the restaurant, because I am not a good cook.” her gaze followed his and nodded. “Jace did most of the work. I just directed him.” Laughing, she leaned in and kissed him on the cheek. “You don’t have to do anything like that for me. But I’m pretty sure if you mentioned that to Jace, you’d be locked in forever in having to do it.”
PM: He came here without his bitch. I know I should just ignore him, but it's hard. I didn't think I would ever see him again. Ever. I might take you up on that. Chess might need to come and transfer me though, because I refuse to move around this place in the day light now.
PM: Ugh, why did he come here? He didn’t come because you are here, did he? Alright. Just let me know and I’ll ask Chess to come get you come nightfall. Or I can just come and walk with you in the daylight. Strength in numbers and all that.
@katherine-hurst
Awesome, score one for me then. I’ll be drinking juice like a real big boy with my two umbrellas, three if things get really crazy.
Hey, why not go for four and make it a real party?
PM: The man who probable singlehandedly ruined my life. I was so sure I was never going to see him again, Riles. I don't k ow what to do.
PM: Just avoid him, Kat. This place is big enough and there’s plenty of people here to do so. If it helps, come hide out with me for a few days.

“I actually think I’ve found her, but I thank you for all your help.” He laughed, kissing her softly and grinning a bit wider when she informed him that Jace was the helping set of hands. “I can only imagine what that experience was like. I’ll be sure to kiss him thank you too though.” Chess teased, squeezing her hand in his and returning the kiss. “I can’t believe it’s been eight months already. We’re gonna be claimed out of here soon, I never thought I’d get this far, much less with someone as amazing as you.” Chester always seemed to look at her like she was a work of art, and right now- after all the effort that had gone into putting this together, there was absolutely no exception to that fact- though as his stomach rumbled, he couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “Uh, I think I just inadvertently answered our question- I sing better when I’m not on an empty stomach anyway.” A pause to sit his guitar aside, sighing happily. “I love you, you know? You really might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“We have gotten so cheesy,” She giggled quietly against his lips as they kissed again. “It was interesting to say the least, but he was super excited to help. He really loves surprises,” Riley was able to get the words out before another kiss, reaching up a hand to cup his cheek, leaning back and looking into his eyes as he spoke. Her smile got wider, unable to hide it anytime she was around Chester. “I know. It’s gone by so fast....I honestly cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you, Chess. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have you in my life,” She told him genuinely. In their relationship Chester always seemed to be the one who acted as if he was the one who should have never gotten someone like Riley, but she felt the same way too. He treated her so well, made her feel so love and so special. And the way he looked at her, it made her heart skip beats. When his stomach growled, she couldn’t help but laugh, nodding. “Alright. Let’s eat then,” She let go of his hand to reach out for the tray, bringing it closer so they could dig in, looking back up at him. “I love you too and that feeling is mutual,” A quick kiss before she handed him a plate of food.
Think they’ll like let a sweetheart like me with a big smile if all I want is some orange juice? Haven’t hit the big twenty one just yet.
Oh yeah, they’ll let you in, but they won’t let you actually drink. They make plenty of virgin drinks too that are awesome.
PM: Because mine just showed up and I'm freaking the fuck out.
PM: Really? Who is this ex?
