âItâs not like Iâm not trying. Iâm not good with assignments. I can speak better than I can write.â The brunette confessed. He wasnât trying to be bad in classes, he simply didnât get graded well for the assignments he handed into his teachers. The brunette glanced towards his younger sister once she talked about their father. âItâll be fine. They arenât going to call home. Iâm attending my classes.â He shrugged. His lips pursed as Riley admitting that she was having a crap day. âWho in particular?â He asked, once she mentioned people were getting on her nerves. âWho do I have to roughen up?â He asked.
âIâll help you B.â She said with a soft smile. âLucky for you, you have a very smart, talented and beautiful sister.â She added in. Everything was petty complex for her. âA few weeks ago Ches basically lectured me on my own mental health suggesting I was going to do something and then after everything that happened in the gym the other day she said she was going to do it and it was very ... intense? kinda triggering and I donât know... it was just to much to handle. Other then that everyone else in this school has a stick up their ass and Isaac still wonât speak to me. Like its been 6 months and heâs still mad over something stupid.â she explained. âDonât rough up Isaac, heâs to pretty to have a broken face and would probably hate me forever.â

âI donât want to bump into my teacherâs and hear about all my bad grades,â Beau confessed. The brunette knew that his teacherâs liked reminding him how awful he was in their classes. Beau walked towards Riley and let her take his arm as he walked the two of them towards the courtyard together. Beau wasnât someone who usually walked around linking arms with people, but he had a protective side when it came to his younger sister. âI wonât get street cred walking you about, but someone might find what Iâm doing cute and instantly fall for me or something, for being a gentleman.â He teased his sister, scrunching his face up after the words escaped his mouth.  âHowâs your day been so far, Ri?â
âCome on B, canât you do better in class?â She questioned as she grabbed on to him as they started to walk. âYou know if they call home and he finds out about that....â She trailed off. It was never good. She wasnât going to ride him to hard though. âAt least I can get you some love in your life.â She said playfully as she nudged him. âMy day? Crap. As always. But it just be like that. People have been getting on my nerve lately.â

The prospect of being compared to an oversized violin brought a slight smirk to Marcelloâs stern face, Riley was just as hellbent on poking fun at him as ever. âI hate to disappoint you, Kylie, but I have no strings for you to fiddle with,â he said with mock exasperation. Intending on winning their exchange, Marcello purposely fiddled Rileyâs name. He was surprised to hear she was going about this somewhat unwillingly, so he took a seat beside her to take a deeper look at the image. âMind telling me what itâs supposed to be? I could give you some pointers,â he offered, although unintentionally obtuse. He was interested in her attempt, and he wanted to be able to aid her progression. At Rileyâs inquiry of his current work, Marcello frowned. He pulled out a travel sketchbook, sliding it to the brunette. âMostly crap,â he asserted. âLandscapes, too. I had an idea for⊠I donât know. Iâm hoping something good comes to me soon,â he explained, rubbing the back of his neck.
Riley thought about how he set himself up for her next response. âWell thatâs good. I never like strings attached.â She said playfully. She liked how they could mess with each other in a playful way. She thought a lot of people these days had grown a bit too oversensitive. She also knew she could fit herself in that category sometimes. âItâs a tree.... I think...? I donât know.â She said before crumbling up the paper and tossing it across the room. âNow its nothing.â She added in. The petite brunette got up and walked over to the clay shelf and picked up her board with her sculpture on it. âMostly crap? Have you tried drawing better?â She said playfully. Riley use to draw anything and everything, she would capture a room, people, a bug. She was inspired by her environment. âJust an idea, you could paint be like one of your french girls.â She. said, obviously kidding. âWhat are you feeling in this very moment?â

King Isaac: That's good. Fine isn't great, but it's better than a lot of people around here these days...
King Isaac: I'm okay.
Queen Riley: i know thats right.
Queen Riley: cool ig.
sav-greyâ:
Sav rolled her eyes, glad Riley couldnât see it. She may be a bitch, but even she wasnât a big enough bitch to call her out on staring. âBow to the queen?â Sav echoed, a scoff leaving her lips. People at this school assuming they were some sort of royalty was nothing new. âSure. How does that work out for you?âÂ
Riley shrugged. âPretty great.â She said simply. âThe second you stop caring what everyone thinks is the second you really start living. Think about it. We graduate in a few years and how many of these people will stay in your life, a few. And you will never see the rest again. Own your shit and be the star of your own reality.â Riley knew how to play confident, like nothing could get to her, but she sometimes slipped out of that role. âPlus you look good all the time, let them stare.â
nate-shawâ:
who: @luxorstartersââ where: luxor japan campusâ library
Nate was supposed to be studying with a group from one of his classes, but it was all kids he couldnât stand - so, leaving behind his homework, he got up, muttering something about the bathroom and headed to a back corner of the library, one he knew (from experience) wasnât frequently visited. Sitting down so no one would spot him, he pulled out the joint in his pocket, popping it between his lips and lighting for a deep inhale, letting his head fall back against the shelves as his eyes closed. He had just begun to chill out when he heard footsteps, his eyes snapping open as he put out the joint, a sly grin spreading across his face. âYou didnât see anything,â he said, shrugging up his shoulders. âOr, uh, smell anything. Right?âÂ
Riley entered the library, it was usually the last place anyone ever looked for her, seeing how she couldnât read. She was thankful that the school did have a somewhat adequate braille section, it was better than some of the other campuses they had visited. Walking around the corner with Zeus, she heard the boy speak up. Of course she smelt it, who in their right mind wouldnât have. âWell I can confidently say I didnât see anything. Smell on the other hand... Thatâs a different story but Iâm willing to remember this situation differently.Â

âWait, hold up!â The brunette called out as he took a few long strides to catch the other up. âAre you heading towards the courtyard?â He asked. âNone of the people over there are, and I asked them to walk with me in that general direction as I didnât want to walk around on my own but none of them are having it,â Beau had a sense of pride and confidence and walking around alone around a big building would knock it and embarrass him. âDo you mind if we walk together?â
Riley heard the very familiar voice approaching her from behind. WHo else could it be? âI might be.â She said with a soft smile. âAwe whats wrong? You donât want to walk alone?â She said in a playful voice, just to mess with him a bit. âDonât worry, walking with your disabled sister should build up all the street cred you will ever need.â She let out a soft laugh as she held her hand out so she could take his arm as they walk.Â

In all honesty, Marcello was going through a bit of an artistic stump. This year had granted so many beautiful sights to capture, but it troubled him how tense things were getting. Bringing himself to scribble more than a few lines was becoming increasingly difficult, and Marcello would not allow himself to falter. In an attempt to rejuvenate his spirit and inspire himself, he found himself walking into one of the campusâ art classrooms. He stopped at the entrance upon seeing Riley sitting down, he was unsure if he wanted to intrude. She had noticed him before he was able to make a decision, so he entered the room . âMarcello De Rosa,â he declared. Approaching the girl slowly, his eyes focused on the work sitting in front of her. It was a rather crude drawing, but he had not really expected her to be capable of any sort of skill. âIâm glad to see you drawing again,â he commented, examining the lines Riley had constructed. âItâs been awhile,â he finished, reflecting on the art classes he had shared with her. The two students had shared countless commentary regarding art, film, and any other interest that inspired passion. Riley was unquestionably talented; Marcello felt disappointed by her tragic loss.
âHey Cello.â She said using a hard c to pronounce it, like the instrument. Thats what they did with each other, poke fun till someone crossed a line. âI wish I wasnât. Itâs a stupid therapy exercise.â Drawing on paper made her very uncomfortable emotionally. She was given the task to do a mind drawing, picture something and try to capture it. There wa no doubt that Riley was talented. If the accident never happened she had the hopes of being a big time artist. âWhat are you working on?â She questioned hoping he had better attempts in the creative aspects. The small girl was filled with a lot of emotions she couldnât really control. Having someone report her to the schoolâs counseling services and her being forced into unwanted therapy didnât exactly help that.Â
Riley alway found comfort in her art, though many things had changed since her accident, she was thankful to take to sculpting. She did miss being able to draw, it was always an outlet for her. After the weekend and everything that took place, Riley was finding it a bit harder to focus on her sculpting. These were the moments she missed having a charcoal stick and gray paper, being able to mindlessly create and put her emotions down on a page. Riley slapped down on the table and groaned just after messing up the piece she was working on. âFucking hell.â She muttered moments before hearing approaching footsteps. Her eyes raised up to the door where she saw a blurred dark figure blocking the light coming in from the hallway. âWhoâs there?â She questioned.

Avery had gotten caught up discussing various scenarios regarding parallel universes, but after a while of blabbing someoneâs ear off, they made up some half assed excuse of needing to do homework of all things. She let them go though- annoying others was fun and all, but she had to be in a certain mood⊠After what happened at the gym, she felt her spark dwindling just a bit⊠it could have also been because sh was just so worried about Jack. She was just about to look for someone else to talk nonsense with to keep her from thinking about anything other than current situations, but looked over when she heard Rileyâs voice. âUh- Hey, RileyâŠâ She greeted with a slight nod, stuffing her hands in her pockets awkwardly. âI didnât even see you⊠Did you secretly unlock the power of invisibility or something? Or maybe teleportation, and I just didnât see you because you werenât there until a second agoâŠ?â She tried to keep it light- with everything going on, the last thing she felt like either of them needed was another fight. Not that she could blame Riley for thinking ill of Avery of courseâŠ. she still never tried to explain that, but there was no point. Not only did she not want to talk about it, but it wasnât as though itâd do either of them any good. Whatâs done is done. No explanation could fix it.
Riley raised a brow. âNo. No I was here the whole time, I was just laying down hoping to blend in and go unnoticed.â She informed the other girl. Riley use to find the girls quirks interesting and fun but these days anything Avery said just annoyed her. Partly her angry and unresolved feelings towards what happened between the two. âAnd, everyone is invisible to me so maybe you unlocked invisibility.â She said just ti be annoying. Riley was not handling the aftermath of the lock in well. Having to pick a side really fucked with her mental health and hearing Baloâs secret didnât make it any better, in fact it made her hate herself more. She was angry and felt guilty, like it was her fault Balo got exposed because she voted to save Elliot.Â
Riley walked into the dorm common room, she was looking for a quiet place and the common room was fairly empty around this time. Taking a seat on the couch and laying back she heard a familiar voice speaking from the hall and then the sound of footsteps as that person neared the common room and entered. âFuckâ She whispered to herself, not as quietly as she intended. âOh... hey...you....â

who: @luxorstartersââ when: a few days after the gym lock-in where: somewhere out on the japan luxor campus
Sav was out on a run, the best (and only) way she had found to cope with everything that was going on - music blasting, pushing herself to the point where all she could focus on was trying to get her breath back. Her mile time had improved considerably, plus her long distance was improving soâŠ.at least that was a pro? As she re-entered the campus, breathing heavily and slowing to a walk, she glanced over to see a student staring at her.Â
âYup, sheâs daring to show her face,â Sav said sarcastically as she tossed her hair over her shoulder, meeting their eyes with a challenge. âStare all you want, Iâm not acting ashamed for showing emotion when we were literally all locked in a gym as a form of torture.âÂ
âWha- me?â She said before she heard a person near by groan and walk off. âOhhh them, I was going to say I know I stare but I donât usually mean it.â She was relaved it wasnât her though. âBut gross, people are annoying bitches with their darting eyes. Luckily I donât have to deal with that anymore but honestly just tell anyone who has a problem to get on their knees, I tell everyone to bow to the queen.â

âSee, if they took us to England, youâd understand everything,â Jack pointed out smugly, as if he had been right all along, âso really what youâre saying is the travel program shouldâve just been a trip to Sheffield and then back to America again.â Which was not at all what had been said, but heâd decided to take it that way regardless. âOh, for sure itâll be one of you pushed down next. Iâm already planning.â
âYes and then I can finally meet a hot english man. This school has none!â She said playfully. âWell, I canât say none, there is Kai.â She added in. âIâm just saying this school trip could be over by now. Iâm sick of all this travel. I mean, I love it, but homesick, but not even of home. Just of our luxor.â That was really the place Riley felt the safest, closest to home. âAre you now? Can it not be me? One traumatic brain injury is enough for a lifetimeâ
