Allen hesitates, eyes on the fluffy white creature in his sister's arms, before blurting, "Can I hold it?"

Riliane held out the cat, silently inviting Allen to take it. The cat, in response to being moved, let out a disgruntled meow.

Allen tentatively held out his arms, and then he was clutching a ball of rather angry white fur.

He laughed softly, awkwardly, as the cat settled. “Are there others, your highness?”

"There are a few more around, yes." That was the biggest under-exaggeration of the century.

Riliane straightened out the wrinkles in her dress from where the cat had been resting against her just a moment ago.

"Most of them like to spend their time in the gardens, you could probably spot a couple from the window. I have informed most of the staff that they are allowed to wander around the palace as they please however."

Good afternoon peasants, I am aware that I have been absent as of late, but with the Holidays fast approaching I felt it necessary to personally inform you all of the gift box seated outside the Lucifenia palace gates. Any and all gifts placed within the box will be donated straight to me. It has been sat there since the start of the month, but it appears no one has noticed it yet considering the lack of gifts I have received, please fix this post haste.

I do not want to be a cat. I want to hug and be surrounded by a thousand cats, I cannot lift them in my arms and give them forehead kisses if I was one myself.
