The Clara dolls from the Rebellion image note
There were a lot of images of them in this book, I only included the most interesting ones. But you can always take a look through the book yourself!
The third to last image has some of the girls with their capes/overgarments off - which remember I made a post where I saw the plaits girl without it in the movie - it’s pretty cute to see their outfits in full.
I found the last two images the most interesting as they seem to be very early concept art for the Clara Dolls.
(I’ll go in order) Ibari seems to have darker hair here in a low ponytail with ended up as a light blonde pixie cut. She is also missing her shawl
Nekura is totally different here. Absolutely everything about her changed.
Usotsuki’s dress is different to the final version but her hair and hat are very similar (though her current hair is a brighter red). Her old dress is a simple black whereas in the final product she has a grey top, black skirt (which has the same bottom hem as the dress) and a black shawl.
Reiketsu looks quite similar though she’s much shorter in this concept art (being one of the tallest in the final version). Her outfit is more simple here and the tails of her jacket are more feathery compared to the final version which is more square.
Wagamama has barely changed, the only noticeable difference is her darker hair here and that her outfit is fully black - a grey part to the bottom of the dress in the final version.
Warukuchi is more simple here too. Her outfit is wholly black and her hair is more dull (seems to be a running theme). In the final version she has a visible white top and a longer jacket.
Noroma is another who’s barely changed. Her hair is just darker here and her dress goes fully to the floor.
Yakimochi has completely changed. Absolutely everything about her apart from her brown coloured hair has changed.
Namake looks almost exactly like her final version. The only part missing in the concept art is the white trim on her top.
Mie looks quite different, it seems about half of her has changed. The shawl stays from concept to final but here she has solely a black skirt whereas the final has a short school-like skirt and grey leggings.
Okubyou seems to have kept the schoolgirl theme from concept to final however the concept looks more like a traditional sailor uniform whereas the final looks more like a western uniform. Her hair is lighter in final and she also has black socks.
Manuke (our girl!) has changed quite a lot. Though in concept her lovely red hair is still clear. She still has her distinctive hood but it seems the rest of her outfit is completely different. She even had grey tights in concept whereas she has black and white striped socks in final.
Higami has changed quite a bit, though her noticeable hat is always there! In concept her hair is really dark and seems to have no buns like final - where she also has blue-grey hair. She keeps her dress and cape though in final she has sleeves and obviously, more detail.
And finally, Ganko: like Manuke and others, she’s always kept a theme from concept to final. She still has her plaits, hat and cape. In concept we cant see if she had her final gloves or not. She’s also missing small details in concept, like others.
