LiS AU: Chloe noticed a pretty girl sitting by herself at the bar reading “The Structure of Scientific Revolutions” by Thomas Kuhn, and couldn’t stop herself from striking up a conversation. They haven’t stopped talking since.

Blackwell Totem started as an inside joke between two college friends during a drunken essay-writing session for ENGL 1080, leading to the release of a lo-fi mixtape filled with kitschy samples and obscure rhymes alluding to the postmodern literary canon. They became an overnight alt-rap success when the indie music website FishPork gave their mixtape a favorable review.

Inspired by shoegaze and postrock bands like Slowdive, Mogwai, and My Bloody Valentine, be.kind.rewind creates atmospheric waves of inescapable noise that evoke the feeling that the ocean is colliding into the sky – beautiful and tragic all at once.

HiFly Evo started out playing word-of-mouth raves for Blackwell students who needed a drama-free way to decompress from classes. Nowadays, you’re more likely to see them in Arcadia Bay’s hottest nightclub (singular: it’s Arcadia Bay, after all), furiously mixing tracks until dawn.

Beyond This Isle, a new punk duo from the Arcadia scene tearing up all of the local clubs with a fierce, no-nonsense sensibility. First in an upcoming series of Life is Strange musical duets.

Trying to move past the flat color scheme I’ve been using so far – unclear whether entirely successful. Might strip it back to my flats and try something different later?
