I took all of these from his office before selene had given me my orders. I didnt have to tell you or show you. I could have let them kill an entire race . but this is war, and I dont believe either side is right in this anymore. Its useless. I may have Selene’s blood, I may have her slight looks, but as you keep rubbing in my face I AM NOT SELENE . So no, this isn’t funny that your family is broken and that your daughters left without a mother, and that she ran off with him to god knows where. Dont forget I didnt need to help . ” she turned away storming off down the hall. She was beyond pissed. She knew helping him would most likely get her killed but at least she was there unlike selene.

Michael stared at the pictures, horrified by what he was seeing. The lycans needed an alpha, soon. They were in chaos, and it left them as a target. He had to stop all of this before anything got worse. He just couldn’t leave his daughter behind either. He would take her somewhere that they wouldn’t be discovered while he went to the pack to take up the position that Lucian’s blood allowed him to have. He would organize an attack against the vampires, starting small scale and then going large. He wouldn’t kill many vampires, but he needed to scare David into either making a mistake or coming out to face him directly. He was the one Michael needed to slaughter, especially if he was planning to eradicate all the lycans like it seemed. He didn’t seem to care as she stormed off, and he looked back down at the files for a moment. He needed a plan. He stood up, not wanting to think about it. He walked to where his daughter was sleeping and moved to sit down in there. Being with his daughter, even when she was sleeping, helped him calm down a little bit more.

Lydia threw the picture frame in her room of selene at the wall. She slid to the floor . she couldn't tell michael that they were planning on killing him as well. She was helping the best she could but he didnt seem to care what she said or did, so it didnt seem like it would make a difference on what she said. She sighed. Selene never should have gave her this assignment. Selene knew she would get to attached , with her blood in Lydia's system the mate bound was strong. But lydia couldn't tell Micheal about that either. Her head started to pound, she winced at the pain. "Lydia.." She froze in place at the sound of Selena voice in her head. "Selene? Is that you" she felt stupid if there was no one there. "Yes, are you bringing michael.. When the time comes." Lydia could hear that there was no emotion no feelings to Selene's words. "I dont know what you want me to do selene. I'd be leading him to his death . all because you want some happy family with david" she shook her head not understanding. "I gave you this job because I knew you could do it. bring him to me . you didnt worry about his life then, why care now. I will be in contact again soon" with that being said lydia could feel selene slipping from her mind. She just sat there not knowing what to do .

She placed the vials back into the fridge and laughed. “ so you expect me to sit here while you go do the work ? Nope not going to happen . when I first met eve I was with one of my close friends who was turned with me. Eve took a liking to her. She can stay with her until I get back. ” she walked and slid up onto the table pretty close to where michael sat. “ guess I’ll have to trust you not to get me killed. I mean you are mister high and mighty after all. Besides Selene would be getting in contact with me, so she said anyway . wouldn’t you want to be there when I received the message” she looked at him with curiosity. Her smiled plastered on her face like this was a game, a chance for her freedom. “ besides me killing lycans can’t hurt to actually meet them. But, let’s leave out the me killing them part. ”

Michael moved away, and growled low at her. “Stay away from me.” He warned, before slipping the papers into his pocket. “You will be killed on the spot if you step into that den. I don’t know your friend. I don’t trust them with my daughter. I barely trust you with her, but at least I know you.” He didn’t want to leave his daughter, especially because Selene had already left her, but he doubted she would be comfortable with the lycans. Perhaps he would wait to ask her. He didn’t want to leave her alone. She deserved better than that. He saw the smile on her face and he snarled. “You’re treating this like it’s fun, like it’s a game. Like it’s funny that my family is now broken and I have to tell my daughter that her mother decided to run off and leave her.”

She filled one of the needs with the blood and injected herself with it. Not glancing at michael, lydia bit her lip at he pain of the blood being injected. “ eve can’t come with us if we go to the lycans. What do you want to do ”

“ ‘We’ are not going anywhere. I am going to the lycans. You are staying here with my daughter.” Michael didn’t trust her, but he wouldn’t bring Eve along with him. She didn’t trust the lycans for a good reason. The hybrid didn’t bother asking about this, instead he stretched for a moment. “I’m going to the lycans, and I need to speak with them. They need to know what’s going on. I need to tell them who is causing this too.”

I dont think Davids a major player in this war but did selene know about him working on this ? Did she say anything to you . ” she knew as I ng these questions would make him more angry but she needed to know if david had a say in the war. “ he might be trying to come up with a way to kill all lycans. I dont think an entire species should be wiped out over something this little. David may not be the vest choice I mean compared to him your a solid 10 . but david he’s smart. He might try to kill them all, and who knows maybe just maybe even you.”

Michael started reading through the paperwork, his brows furrowing as he read through the notes. None of this rang a bell. “No, Selene never said anything to me about this.” He said, tossing the notes down. He didn’t think it was possible to find a way to wipe out the rest of the lycans, and Michael wouldn’t stand for it. He knew there were remnants of Lucian’s pack still roaming the underground. He knew then he needed to find them. They had come to him several times asking him to be their alpha. Originally, he refused because of Selene, but now he would do it because he didn’t have that holding him back anymore. He needed to share that with them immediately. They needed to take David out before he attempted to kill the lycans. “I don’t care if he tries to kill me, but Eve. I would die to protect my daughter.”

Away from the war. What place did you plan on taking her. “ she slid into the chair . she glanced at him . she could see why selene fell so hard for him at one point. His features where hard, but his emotions clear as day across his face. She looked away trying to avoid her thought and back to the task at hand. ” its up to you if you want to go after selene or david. I can’t promise she will come back . I’m doing this for eve, I know you want me out of your way as soon as possible .“

“She’s making her decision. She chose David over her family. That’s what she’s doing.” He looked at the folded papers that were on the table and then he took them to look at them. “I hadn’t decided. I figured it would be somewhere we would discuss if we came to an agreement.” He did have a few ideas, but nothing he had brought up yet. He should have known that Selene wouldn’t have wanted to run away with him. But she was so willing to go run off with fucking David. He looked away, tried to keep himself contained. “She’s not coming back. Honestly, what I want is everything to go back to the way it was before, but that’s not possible.”

This is the first I’ve been thrown into the war.” She crossed her arms . “so honestly I never got to experience what she did with you. What was it like being in love” she finally looked at him , her eyes dancing with curiosity.

“Don’t.” Was Michael’s first response, a growl bubbling up within him again. He was dealing with enough pain thinking about the fact that Selene left him, and he didn’t really want to talk about the love he felt for Selene. He sighed, knowing she probably wouldn’t let it drop, until he told her. “I was drawn to her. She was the center of my immortal world. I would have died for her. Every moment I spent with her was magical.”

Lydia drank the bag of blood and leaned against the table . she ran hand threw her hair breathless. “What do you plan on doing then.” She took a few steps and leaned down in front of him . still shirtless, her eyes searching his face . “you can love selene, but she won’t be back . have to take your anger out on someone ” she smirked and stepped back towards the kitchen to clean up the mess she made from her arm. “You won’t get far with eve searching for her”

“Look, I don’t know.” Michael hadn’t thought that Selene would just leave him like she did. He growled low, rubbing his face. He had no idea what he would do after all this was said and done. She pushed against him as she went to the living room and took of her shirt tossing it to the side looking at the damage . “ you really think I dont know that michael. What do you want me to say. That David didnt make me to replace selene for you so that you didnt go after her. Sorry to burst your happy bubble but thats exactly what happened.” She tossed a gun to him and turned to dig the bullet out. “ if thats such a problem mine as well kill me now . because I’m here and eve has no idea what happened so if you want to tell her right away be my guest. But if you leave we both know eves in more danger. And we know David would do anything to stay with selene even if it meant eve out of the picture.”

“I would kill David if he tried to lay a hand on my daughter, and understand that you might have been created to replace Selene, but you won’t be able to do that.” He moved to see if there were blood bags in the area. He found some and tossed one her way. The hybrid obviously had little interest in hurting her. He had someone to take his anger out on now. “Eve’s sleeping. I won’t wake her to tell her, but I’m going to have to tell her when she wakes up.” Michael couldn’t keep that fact from his daughter. He wasn’t like Selene, he wasn’t a horrid person.

She stepped out slamming the door closed. “ eve can sleep in the spare room” she opened the door into her home , leading michael to the room .

“Yes, but you’re not Selene.” Nobody could be Selene, except Selene. He lifted up his daughter and followed her into the house. He moved to set his daughter into the bed and tucked her in. He brushed his hands through her hair. “I’m sorry Baby girl.” He whispered to his daughter “It’s just you and me now. I’ll protect you. I promise.” He stepped out of the bedroom to let his daughter sleep. He was visibly angry, needing a release for his anger.

But, have you never wondered where she went at long periods of time in the mornings. Michael.. Use your senses.” Lydia tensed at what his reaction. Would be. She tried to slow her heartbeat . blood was still dripping lightly from her arm. All he needed was the scent of her blood and he would Starr asking questions. “ she did this you know.. She was preparing for this. I’m not sure why , but she fucked everything up.”

“I’m assuming now she went to be with David.” God, the vampire’s name alone made Michael’s blood boil. He would tear David’s throat out the next time he saw him. Selene had his mark, she was his mate… but she didn’t want him. He didn’t know how he would be able to tell Eve that her mother was gone. That Selene had left them alone. He didn’t know how he would manage that. Michael breathed in, catching the scent of her blood. “You need medical help.” He mumbled, more to himself than anyone.

She glanced in the mirror watching eve sleep in her fathers arms. “Why did you and selene fight. ” she grinned the steering wheel tightly. “ to be honest I didnt know my complete orders till I listened to the bracelet. The first time I heard it ” lydia paused as she kept her eyes on the road. “ was with you in the room. How much has she told you about me.” She prayed he hasn’t caught on to how much if you really look besides the hair she looked like selene. “I need to know what you guys fought about ”

Michael’s fingers brushed through his daughter’s hair as she slept. He almost didn’t catch her question but when he realized she had been asking him, he glanced up. He glared up at her, fangs poking out from his gums. “If you must know.” His voice was soft so he wouldn’t wake up his daughter. “I was talking to Selene about getting out of here for a while, to find somewhere away from the war and the fighting. She thought I was being stupid.” He knew she wouldn’t be able to just up and leave the war, but he wanted to keep his family safe.

She glanced at eve in his arms . he was heart broken she got that, but what ticked her off more than anything was the purpose of her being here. She shrugged of the bullet that tore threw her arm . her face covered her face as she moved towards one of the cars not damaged. “ we need to go. More will be coming . anything else you want to know I’ll tell you on the way. ” she opened the driver side door clutching it, waiting for michael. “Get in . ”

Michael got into the back seat, determined to stay with his daughter. She was all he had left now, all he had to keep him from slowly losing his mind. He didn’t want to believe that everything had changed as fast as they had. He had lost everything except his daughter. He brushed a hand through Eve’s hair, and he became determined to get his revenge on Selene for abandoning her family. He would make sure she would pay.

Lydia landed gracefully on the ground . she looked up to see michael not behind her. A scream pierced the air. She turned searching for the scream. Men carried eve cuts covering her body. Lydia’s fangs released ready for a fight . “ Michael ! ” lydia screamed rushing to eve. Guns aimed firing at her. She twisted and dodged, her aim eve . she pulled her gun firing at everything , she didnt care who died. Her mission was eve and michael. She braced herself for a punch as one of the men swung at her. She pulled her blade out slicing his stomach. Her moves graceful. If anyone was paying close attention they would see she looked just like selene. Even her scent close enough to resemble her. Lydia cursed, nobody could know what she was . these men, even eve. She fought the men keeping a fast paste as they continued to come at her. All you could hear was Eve’s piercing scream.

Michael heard his daughter’s scream and his every instinct activated to protect her. He launched himself out of the window and handed gracefully on the ground beneath him. He took off, using his hybrid speed to free Eve from the men carrying her. He broke their necks with practiced ease. He immediately stood in front of his daughter, protective. A growl tore through his chest, a warning that anyone who got close to his daughter would have their heads torn from their bodies, or worse. Despite the heartbreak he felt, he was determined to protect his child.

She tilted her head smirking at him. “Your so much more trouble than your worth ” with that she jumped out the window glass shattering everywhere .

“You go and keep Eve safe.” Michael snarled. “I’ll take care of this here.” He’d rather be killed than live with that information that was given to him by Selene. He watched her jump out the window, but instead of following her, he stayed put. His body made the full transformation and he quickly moved to the shadows. He heard footsteps approaching, and was thankful that he could easily hide like he did. If they wanted to kill him, he’d let them. Eve would be better off without him anyway. He tried to be a good father, but he knew he wasn’t that good.

She watched him press the button . “Micheal if your getting this, than it means my apprentice has made it successfully to you . things with the vampires have gotten worse and I’ve gone with David to fix things. Yet this is not the reason you are getting this message. I’m with David michael..” You could hear the pause in Selene’s voice. Lydia watched Michael as he continued to listen . “ lydia, will be there to take my place. I will no longer be around. She has our daughter Michael. Watch over her. Our daughter and you should not look for me . I’ll keep in contact with lydia. Times almost up Michael. They are coming for you . stay with lydia get our daughter and leave. ” lydia hopped off the desk . grabbing her coat she looked out the window to see men rushing towards the building. The rain coming down hard from the storm.

Anger, irrational anger, coursed through Michael’s veins. No. Michael wouldn’t accept this. How could she just do this to their daughter, their family. How could she do this to him. Claws extended and he didn’t care whether or not they came for him. His breathing was heavy, more growl-like than anything out. “Get out of here.” He snarled at her, eyes melting back to black. Fuck what she said to not look for her. Michael planned on finding her. He deserved better than that, better than a message like that which basically told him, in his mind, that everything he and his mate had was nothing. His fangs extended. “Get out, and take my daughter away.” Either he lived through this and went to find Selene, or he’d be killed in this battle. It didn’t really matter to him which would happen.

Lydia looked at him. The smile gone from her face. “If I told you, you would just be more pissed. Let’s put the fangs away shall we.” Her fingers slid to the knife in her boots ready to fight if necessary. Lydia didnt understand why selene couldn’t have done this herself, but of course she leaves the dirty work to someone else. She shook her wrist and tossed Michael the bracelet. “She left you a message. Now dont tare my head off for what she’s about to say . ”

Michael caught what was tossed to him. He was already angry enough. Selene was his tying factor to the immortal world. She was the reason he was alive, and she was just leaving him like this? No, he couldn’t accept it. He couldn’t dare to accept what she was doing. He looked at the bracelet and met Lydia’s eyes. He didn’t want to lose his mate. He didn’t want to lose Selene. And after their fight, she was just leaving him? That didn’t make sense. “I make no promises.” Michael threatened.

Lydia didnt dare take a breath for she knew what was about to happen. She watched him press the button . “Micheal if your getting this, than it means my apprentice has made it successfully to you . things with the vampires have gotten worse and I’ve gone with David to fix things. Yet this is not the reason you are getting this message. I’m with David michael..” You could hear the pause in Selene’s voice. Lydia watched Michael as he continued to listen . “ lydia, will be there to take my place. I will no longer be around. She has our daughter Michael. Watch over her. Our daughter and you should not look for me . I’ll keep in contact with lydia. Times almost up Michael. They are coming for you . stay with lydia get our daughter and leave. ” lydia hopped off the desk . grabbing her coat she looked out the window to see men rushing towards the building. The rain coming down hard from the storm.

Michael breathed out a growl. Selene had been gone for hours, and he was on edge since she left. Their fight had been bad, and she had stormed off without another word. He knew there had been someone she was training and he wondered if she had gone there, or at least if the person had seen Michael. Unfortunately, Selene refused to tell him who she was or where they were training. It frustrated him even more and he had half a mind to go track her down. A knock on the door got his attention and he shot up and he went to open the door. 

“…You’re not Selene.” Michael growled, glaring at the individual at the door. “What are you doing here?”

Lydia rolled her eyes at him. When selene said he would be pissed at her for not showing she wasn’t kidding . Lydia’s hair flowed around her making her skin look bright. Her eyes a bright blue piercing Michael with her gaze she smirked. “No I’m not selene. She’s going to be away for awhile, she most likely won’t be back” she shrugged tossing her jacket to the side, revealing a black crop top and right black pants, thanks to selene she gave her most of her clothes. She hopped up on the desk near the windows scanning the papers that were scattered on top.

“What did you do to Selene?” A threatening growl bubbling up within him. He stepped towards her, fangs extended. He could tolerate a lot of things, but someone hurting his mate was never tolerated. He didn’t know her, besides the fact that she was a vampire. He didn’t think Selene would just up and leave after everything that happened. He could feel his claws extending and he stepped towards her. “Where is she!”

She shook her wrist and tossed the bracelet to him. "She left a message. Press the side. Dont tare off my head with what she's about to tell you " Lydia remained stone cold. Selene just had to leave her with the dirty work.
