Mammal in a Sunday Dress, by Georgina M. Cox, 2026
at the grocery store i bought 2 limes and a lemon and the checker said to me "two limes and a lemon... Anything could happen"
'where are we going?'
away from here.
to where?
I'm not too sure just yet. but I know we can't stay here.
I don't know how to feel about that.
it's okay to feel sad.
I don't feel too sad. I almost feel nothing about it.
why is that?
I think we both know, we weren't meant to stay for this long.
yeah.
so, where would you like to go?
-
shall we go see what happiness looks like?
(talking to myself, at a turning point)
over the weekend,
I fought off pest control from removing a mama dog from her pups and made content of the littles to try and get them adopted.
my heart was churning so hard it felt heavy in my chest.
it felt heavy in my chest to care so much about something/someone.
and it dawned on me how vast a heart can reach, how open it can become.
and the person housing the heart unfortunately is at the losing end of that battle.
a bleed that won't stop even if we willed it to.
a safekeeping of everyone else but oneself.
a custody of thought that we think belongs to us but it doesn't.
it belongs to the ones who need it, other than ourselves.
a bleed that will tear itself open, just so you don't feel alone.
You know what I’ve noticed baby?
—
So very few of us are brave enough, to not be mirrors of the world.
And instead, present their truest self to it.
—
Now that, is ballsy.

I love coffee I love donuts -
I am sure of my love.
And perhaps, that is enough.
Hey kids, (a series to help push me through my tougher days)
it's your mom.
It's a Thursday in January 2024 and we celebrated your grandpa's 62th birthday yesterday with everyone. It was a good time, your grandpa was happy and we had hotpot for his birthday dinner and his current favourite cake - vanilla crepe cake from Fleur De Lys.
I'm also currently still unemployed, so I'm doing my best to make the most of my days during this waiting period. I'm diving into SEO and I'm sending out applications almost everyday, weekly definitely.
My mental health is still holding up though! Keeping strong, doing my best to not fall into a self-pity party for one each day. One thing your late grandma said was to keep your mind strong so the rest of you doesn't slide. So I'm working on becoming more mentally strong.
That's a quick check-in from me. Love you so much. <3

Out in the mist, trying to remember who I was -
in order to figure out who I am.
---
I recorded a video resume for a new job application and it did not go well.
Technicalities were all set. Recorded in front of my backyard and the lighting was just right.
But once I started, I fumbled over my words when it came to describing who I was. I felt a pressure to say the right words that would make the hiring managers' ear perk up.
'What message am I trying to get across?'
I feel like I know who I am holistically. But I didn't think it would be this difficult to articulate into words.
---
It was a devastating experience - not to know how to express who I am.
