Drinks On Me || Rita and Max
"Really. That’s interesting." Max smiled. "Sounds like a pretty good day for you and sounds like my day just got better."Max grabbed the drink that was placed in front of him and took a drink. "Max. Nice to meet you."
"I'm glad that I could help to improve it." She told him while turning her attention back to the drink, finishing it, then pushing her cup back to Marion, smiling at the woman dumped more liquor into it. "So. What's your story?"
Quick Money || Rita and Victoria
Fagin needed money, he needed money three weeks ago, but Rita had been too busy to stop by. He had her phone number, but he never called. His heat had been shut off and he was starving. It wasn't surprising, this happened every two months, but it still pissed Rita off. She'd spent a good amount of her life caring for the man and he continued to let this happen to him. She needed to check on him more often and she would, as well as send others to go check on him randomly.
She shoved her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket while she walked briskly towards the younger woman's house. She knocked twice on the door when she got there, then put her hands back in her pockets, waiting none too patiently. When the door opened she looked a the girl's face for a moment before blowing a bubble with her gum and making it snap in her mouth. "Ever stolen an ATM card?"
Drinks On Me || Rita and Emma
Emma frowned at the woman slightly, “It’s so weird to have people just randomly know who I am.” She quickly schooled her expression. “I forget how small a town this is sometimes.” She wrinkled her nose a little, “Emma is fine, or Deputy if you’re into labels I guess.” She grinned then to show she meant no harm with her words.
As the bartender placed to glasses in front of them she picked her’s up and held it out to the other woman. “Thanks for the drink, by the way.” she said before taking a sip.
"I make it my business to know the people of the town." Rita told the woman while giving her a gentle smile, not wanting to make it seem like an odd statement. The real reason she did so was to make sure she knew who she was stealing from, who had what, who could stand to lose. This women didn't need to know that though, "It's a small town so it's always nice to know who's in it."
"It's no problem. I'm happy to share in the wealth and misfortune of others." She smiled for a moment before realizing that was something that she could really only say to someone like Jack or someone that was in the gang. "Wow, sorry that sounded odd, distant relative that I'd never met died a while back, I got some money and a few paintings. Nothing big, but," she paused and shrugged, "everything is helpful these days."
Drinking the Night Away || Rita and Damien
He nodded, still grinning. “Sexist pigs?” He asked with a laugh. “Yes i know how they are and I’m more than willing to deal with them. Besides-” He chuckled. “Staying behind the desk is getting boring. I mean sure you’re less likely to end up with scars but honestly I’d prefer that then boredom.” He’d had some scary experiences with buyers a while back… some resulting in broken limbs or gunshot wounds once he was even held hostage for a few days. “But it makes for some great drunk stories and-” He said, lips curling into a smirk. “I’m told ladies like the ones with battle scars.” He joked, still laughing.
"Bingo." She said while pushing some of her hair out of the way. "True, less boredom is a thing, just pray that these ones don't come after you. They're not people that you want to mess with. Which naturally I am." She started laughing at his words and shook her head, "How about you wait until a lady actually tells you that. I think it's all a matter of preference." She told him while giving his chest a slight shove and rolling her eyes.

Damien smirked, “And that’s why we’re friends.” He said with a light chuckle. Friends. The word stung as he said it. Were they friends? Or was it more like allies to her? He considered them friends at the very least but the prospect of something more wasn’t at all unattractive. “Eh, if she is then she’s not going to get too far. I’m not as wound up in her web as she believes I am.” He wasn’t sure how wound up he was. In her web or anyone else’s. He liked to believe himself strong and capable when on the inside he was confused beyond belief. Life was complicated and love was even more complicated.
Rita raised an eyebrow at the word friends, but didn't comment, instead she shook her head and turned her head back to the side show attraction, "Liar." She said under her breath while she went back to looking around the room. "Is this all you wanted to talk to me about? You could at least tell me home great I look, you know." Her eyes flicked to Jack across the room, then to the rest of the members of the gang one by one, at least those that had come. It'd been an agreement that everyone was to be on their best behavior and honestly she was only worried about Jack. He was the type that was slip bracelets off hands during an introduction.
Busted || Jack & Rita
The poor man. Fagin wasn’t the richest in the town, nor was he the quickest either. There were many flaws to the man, but it was through those flaws did he originally agree to help him get by. Jack worked hand-in-hand with the poor man, as did the rest of the gang. If one end of the spectrum were to fall, it was all bound to come crashing down.
That was why Jack agreed to collect some food for him. He was poor; he had no money in his pocket and he wasn’t exactly the sneakiest thief out there. So, it seemed best to save him the trouble of tripping over his feet. Instead, he’d do it with a little help from his roommate. After all, it was always easier to steal money or food in general when he had a partner.
“Hey Rita,” Jack started as soon as he entered through the door he previously knocked on, a faint smile tugging at his lips as soon as his eyes fell to the woman. The only thing that took his attention away from her and explaining the situation was the sudden barking of a dog which soon started as soon as it recognized the scent. “Hello to you too, Tiger,” he addressed, leaning down to stroke the dog’s head before looking back to Rita.
“Looks like Fagin needs our help. He’s going to starve if we don’t get him something to eat. You should’ve seen him, all hunched in his seat and being the good man I am, I accepted his offer. It’ll be dangerous, but I’m sure we can get past the dangerous of this task.”
Bliss. That was the only word to describe Rita's afternoon. It was a perfect day, she had more than enough to buy food for her and Jack, enough for the bills, enough for dog food. The electric was going to be paid just in time so it wasn't turned off, which was better than she could have said for some previous months. She even had a little extra to save in case anything broke, which was almost inevitable if you lived in the type of apartment she did.
She flopped into the armchair, popping the top off the beer in her hand as she did. She set a second beer on the table beside her, and reached down to pat her dog's head. "You're a good boy." She whispered while rubbing between his ears and slowly taking a sip from her beer. Her fingers found the remote and she pressed the power button, not caring what was on. Following tv shows wasn't something that she had time for, and even watching tv was a rare luxury.
Not even a minute had passed before she heard the door open. Sighing, she turned her attention to Jack and took another sip. "Hello yourself." She replied while standing up and watching her dog bounce at his feet. "Please tell me you're dragging me out of here." She held the bottle near her lips, slowly tipping it back and letting the liquid flow into her mouth.
"When isn't he about to starve, Jack? I've spent half my life feeding that man." Rita groaned and leaned against the wall, nodding slowly while finishing off her beer. "Alright. Because you're 'being the good man that you are,' I'll go risk my neck for your promises, again." Rita didn't honestly have that big of a problem with it, she'd always looked after Fagin and she wasn't going to leave him to himself if he needed help. "What are you thinking?"
Rita had always considered herself to be the motherly type of person. In another life she could have seen herself having her own special litter of children. In this life there was just no room for them. She didn't have the time or space for any kids running around her feet. While she'd never have one of her own, she couldn't help the soft spot she had for all of those who did. Whenever she swiped a wallet and found pictures of children, she always returned them, telling the person that they're dropped it, or even slipping it back in the owners pocket. She could never find it in herself to take from kids.
How do you Fondue? || Halloween Festival || Annica and Rita
Annica smiled widely, pleased at the attention her booth was getting. “If you want to grab a plate or a kebab stick you can have more than one… The chocolate is way too good to have just one.” She smiled. “And the strawberries are amazing. Though, so are the little wafers… and the marshmallows…” Though, it seemed the younger ones tended to go for the marshmallows and pretzels. The adults enjoyed the fruit,
"I really shouldn't be eating too much of it," Rita commented while looking over the table and picking up a little wafer, "so, if I don't use a plate there's no evidence of what I've eaten left behind and I'll never have to notice." She grinned while carefully letting the end touch the chocolate, then tossing it into her mouth. "This is a really nice idea. Did you come up with it yourself?"

Emma glanced at the girl in surprise, ”Uh…” she looked around to see if perhaps she had meant someone else, but there was no one else around them.
She laughed slightly to alleviate the awkwardness she felt, “Hey. I think you must have me confused for someone else. We’ve never met.” She studied the other woman’s face intently to confirm that she was right, “But hey if you’re offering I’ll accept after a day like today.”
"I don't recall ever saying that we had met." Rita gave the woman an odd look, not knowing how she was supposed to reply when something like that was said. She was offering to buy the woman a drink, if she didn't want one she didn't have to have one, but Rita wasn't going to take back the offer. When the woman spoke again she seemed interested, so Rita set the money on the bar and watched as the bartender slipped it away without paying her much attention, Rita would give a small sum of money and get free drinks for the rest of the night, that's how it'd always worked and that's how it always would. "Long day?" She questioned while spinning her empty cup on the table, waiting for it to be replaced with a full one. "Are the streets safe sheriff?"
Spoon! || Rita and Thatcher
"That’s what we say!" Thatcher beamed, giggling to himself. Some people assumed that coffee was just as important here as tea was, a very, very wrong conclusion. Tea was one of the most important things in life, to pretty much everyone who worked at the shop, a necessity. "A surprise?" a grin spread across his features, "I’m good at surprises. I can do that." He already had some ideas in mind, and began to move away from the table, "I’ll be back in a flash!"
"Wonderful." Rita watched him run off before giving a small shake of her head and watching out the window as she waited for a cup of tea. She wasn't even sure that she liked tea that much, but it seemed like a good place to be at the moment, not too busy, not too loud. It was a warm place to be, where the rest of the town seemed to be cold and grumpy for the day.
Drinking the Night Away || Rita and Gray
Gray kept the silence going, preferring it to conversing with another human being, especially a woman. The past months had only proved yet again that they were more pain than they were worth. It was a lesson he’d been taught over and over again, and with any luck it would finally stick. It seemed to be, this time, anyway. Taking another long sip, he waited, wondering when the girl would finally give up and leave. That was when his night would begin to turn pleasant.
Rita just nodded her herself and finished off her dink when she realized that he wasn't going to talk to her. She'd had enough to drink for the evening anyways and wasn't going to fight for conversation. She pulled on her jacket as she slid from the stool, giving him one last look as she did. "You know, drinking only dulls the pain for so long, eventually you're forced to face your demons." Rita zipped her coat and pushed her hands into her pockets while she turned away from the door, exiting the bar for the evening.

Max had only just sat down and already someone was buying him drinks. He got off early. Just as he was leaving some business man came in complaining that his wallet had been stolen earlier that day. Max didn’t hear to much but he wanted to help. He’d fix that problem tomorrow, but for right now a pretty girl was buying him a drink. “Thank you.”
"No problem, I came into some money today and I thought I might as well share, make someone else's day as good as mine has been." Rita placed a few bills on the table, and happily took the new drink that was pressed in front of her. "Thank you Marion." She told the woman as she lifted the drink to her lips. "I'm Rita," she told the man as she looked to him again, "and you're very welcome."

The young woman spun around on the bar stool, happily falling into the swing of the Merry Men. It was her favorite place to hang out, same with the rest of the gang, but tonight she was alone. She'd pulled in a nice haul today, the thick wallet of a business man, and after stopping by Fagin's to give him some cash, she'd headed straight to the bar where she'd spent the rest of the afternoon. It was a little after seven now, and she'd yet to blow through even half the cash left after she'd paid her bills. Not having any logical thing to use the money on, she turned to the person sitting beside her and held up the wallet, "Drinks are on me." She told them while giving a wink and gesturing for the bartender.
"Well who said you have to be alone? Come to the Underworld. Be my guest, put on a sexy costume, make some friends. You know."
"The Underworld isn't exactly my usual bar." Rita told her while running her tongue over her lips and shrugging . "Yeah, alright. What harm can one night do? Besides it's a chance to wear something sexy."
How do you Fondue? || Halloween Festival || OPEN
Annica readied the next plate of fondue treats. Little pieces of fresh baked bread and plates of fruits. She grabbed a strawberry and held it under the chocolate fondue and bit into it as she waited for the next person. It was good, she was glad the fair had let her do this. With a mouth still slightly full of chocolate she waved to the person who approached her booth.
"Fondue? It’s good. I tested each and every fountain personally." She motioned to the different fondue fountains they had, with a selection of things for everyone to try.
Rita looked at the woman, slightly confused, until she really looked at the table in front of her. "Oh! Fondue. Yum." Rita looked over the items and decided on a strawberry as well before holding it under the chocolate. "This is a really cute idea, what made you come up with it?" She pushed the berry into her mouth and smiled while she chewed. "Delicious. I haven't had a strawberry in forever."
"For Halloween I think I’m going as a cat. What’s your costume?"
"I don't actually think that I'm going to be dressing up this year. There's no point when you're just sitting home alone."
Cinnamon Challenge || Rita & Hanson
The attitude took a major shift, brown eyes catching his. Either she wanted something, or she was flirting. Interesting.. Hanson kept himself from smirking, instead keeping a look of innocence and worry. Maybe shoving people wasn’t that bad of an approach after all. “No, not at all! It’s entirely my doing.”
"Died?" He asked, playing along. "Well.. kids will be kids." Hanson rose a brow, a smile smile quirking his lips at her words. Definitely flirting. The tables had turned, and now it was her faking worry for him. "I think so. But I’m having trouble catching my breath. I might have to take a seat. Would you mind joining me?"
"Well, I suppose that we're going to have to just agree to disagree." Rita told him innocently. "But as long as there's no lasting injuries, I don't see how it matters." As he repeated the word died she nodded and watched him with a sad expression. "Oh yes, national tragedy." A smirk was on her lips for a moment as she gestured to a bench, then looked up at him worried once again. "It's the least I can do. I don't think that I'd be able to live with myself if I wandered off in your time of need. What if you needed to go to the hospital, or needed a drink and you couldn't get one yourself? No no, that won't work. I'll have to stay with you and keep you safe."
