i had a dream about this scenario last night.

reminder that homophobia/transphobia doesn’t need to be a thing that exists within your fantasy universe. there is 0 reason for your queer characters main struggle to surround their identity. there is 0 reason for queer people not to be normalized. i promise you there are so many genuinely interesting conflicts you can create within your universe that have nothing to do with two girls holding hands. it is, after all, a fantasy world.

My brain: what if mirabel couldn’t get her magic door until antonio got his powers because as the next spiritual matriarch she also needed a new generation to protect in order to generate her own miracle

My brain: do you think that while the door mirabel touched as a child faded out, the front door of the house was going nuts but nobody saw it because the whole town was in the foyer looking up the stairs, and it didn’t get a design because they didn’t put the monogrammed doorknob there at the time

Me: please I am begging you

My brain: mirabel didn’t get a magic room because the whole house is hers and she’s already linked to every room. mirabel knows what her family members need emotionally just as the house knows what each member of the family needs physically. she needed to stay in the nursery because the encanto’s story began in a nursery.

You know what? I’m not too worried about Owl House’s ending.

It sucks, yes, that we can’t get more. I would have loved to see this show get its full 3-4 seasons it seems Dana intended (that is interpretation based on her comments on my part, NOT fact). Or even be a longer 5-7 season show, with two main arcs within like The Dragon Prince will be.

However, I think our ending will still be fantastic— because they knew about the cancellation early.

Prior to s1 even finishing, in fact, and likely even earlier there was word around season 3 was getting the axe. This means they had time to prepare and, most importantly, WRITE FOR having this shortened amount of episodes. Something I trust this writing team to do.

Writing for TV is a nightmare when it comes to this. It’s hard to create a planned out, paced narrative that comes to a satisfying conclusion when you never know if you’re going to get renewed. But the earlier you find out, the better you can adjust and prepare for the most solid ending possible.

Why do you think s2a was so jam packed? They’re likely adjusting the plot and had to cut the kind of filler episodes present in s1 so they’d have time to get the season 2 finale where it needs to be before the shortened s3. It shifts everything.

I have faith that the rest of The Owl House is going to be great, even if not ideal or perfect, and I encourage fellow fans to as well. It’s the best thing we can give the show in the time that it has left.

You know what I love? How androgynous Aaravos appears.

He has this alluring beauty that transcends any presumptions of human gender, and I think that’s wonderful. It gives off the impression of this higher power, that he is truly greater than all of humanity and other elf kind. Nothing can classify him because he exists above all of it.

More “god-like” characters who are supposed to be all powerful should use this idea in their designs, honestly.
