Enjoyers of women who are actually morally complicated have suffered more than you will ever know
every teenager is right that music is more important than anything else in the WORLD!!!!!
Oh man lowkey missing early slow horses vibes this rainy night in Kerala, India. I know I glaze riv a lot- as one does- but it's the show that's the real glaze for me 😔 Dumb, stupid thirty somethings having one of the most glamorous jobs in television history- and doing it realistically badly. It's like getting a rare peak behind the curtains only to find out the actors are all you and the show is being put as only you ever could. Peeling back decades of carefully put together rhetoric designed to sell swiss watches and luxury cars and finding raw humanity underneath
You can't put a price tag on that, apple tv.
I like to fuck around and waste time for at least ~6-10 hours per day, and let me tell you, that really puts some pressure on your schedule. you have no idea how busy I am
Real chatgpt for writers was the new autocorrect word that popped up that was actually better than the orginal word you were gonna use. Chatgpt wishes

You ever see a piece of media and then.. back away from it slowly?
faced with danger, his FIRST instinct was to pull his clothes back down, rather than holding onto his gun.

i am not articulate enough to make this sound coherent rn. but the cycle of familial violence portrayed in gdt's frankenstein, set against the backdrop of the cycle of violence in society with the constant references to the wars. the creature finding beauty and connection in nature, feeding the deer until it is shot dead. his speech about the wolves and the sheep, how they don't hate each other, it's just in their nature to kill and be killed.
it seems like these cycles will never end but they can. you can turn your ship around. you can forgive your father. you can walk into the snow and feel the sun upon your face. you can, you can, you can.
My one contribution to the discussions about GtD Frankenstein that I’m sure already exists but I’ve yet to see is:
It is devastating to me that the first thing the creature experiences *is* kindness. Victor wakes up and sees his creation, and he loves him in that first moment, under those golden rays of the sun. His touch is kind. He all but embraces the creature while listening to his heartbeat. Victor looks at the creature with wonder and softness and delight. The creature’s first experience is one of love and wonder and kindness, of being cherished.
And then that disappears. And the creature doesn’t know why, he becomes both afraid and full of yearning for that love again. Victor goes from loving to cold, with just glimmers of hope for kindness left, glimmers that the creature reaches for. Then Elizabeth comes, and the creature experiences kindness again. Gentleness, softness, curiosity, wonder. Those things exist again.
And then Elizabeth leaves. Victor abandons him. Tries to kill him, even though he doesn’t understand that yet - he just understands he’s alone. The deer is kind and gentle and dies, the hunters harm him but are kind and gentle to their family.
The creature is told at every step “there is kindness and gentleness in the world and it is not for you. You may have a taste of it, here and there, but it will cost you greatly.”
And that’s just fucking devastating. To know what it is to be loved and cherished, to feel the warmth of the sun and the kindness of family, and to be denied it again and again and again while aching for it. *Needing* it. Because here, the creature *is* human by all markers the film sets, and humans need kindness and love to live. It’s why the ending is so powerful. To choose to live, to choose to continue seeking basic human needs despite a lifetime of pain. To choose to break a familial cycle of neglect and abuse and *try*, despite it all.
Even in the frozen wasteland, there is sunlight. There’s hope.
