Request by anon: Prompt idea: AU where Veronica is a vampire(the Lodges are known to be a vampire family). So when she comes to Riverdale, everybody is avoiding her, except Betty who tries to understand Veronica.
Thanks so much for this prompt! Sorry it took so long to write, but it’s my favorite prompt so far, so I wanted to really focus on it. I love vampires, and I love Beronica :)
Wait..how old are you? I always thought you were still in high school? I hope you don't take that as an insult..I'm wondering only because I'm an "older" person of the fandom to (20) and I don't know many others who are older than high school age?
Hi! I’m 24. That’s why I don’t follow, well, practically any Riverdale blogs, because the majority of them are run by high schoolers. That’s completely fine of course! I just feel odd, a little bit? It’s not that I don’t want to associate with younger fans. I just don’t know if they’d feel comfortable with an actual adult following them, and things like that. Plus, I have my own adult life, you know? I’m so removed from high school, and my time there, that I don’t know if I particularly want to follow high schoolers? God, that sounds so bad! It’s nothing against the actual person. It’s just that we’re at such different times in our lives, and I just don’t think we’d really have any of the same interests, besides Riverdale.
Single Fright Female - Betty x Veronica Imagine (Part 2)

“Your life in New York looked, fun,” Betty said. She was looking at the pictures Veronica had put up around the mirror in her bedroom, and Veronica was secretly thanking her lucky stars that she removed all the pictures from the 50’s through 2013. She was going to tell Betty about it some day, but she didn’t want that day to be today.
“A lot more exciting than what Riverdale could ever offer.” Betty broke Veronica out of her internal thoughts.
“New York didn’t have you, though.”
Veronica could see Betty in the mirror, see her smiling, averting her eyes, and, good lord, Veronica wanted to kiss her. Of course, she could just ask Betty. There was a very minimal chance that she was reading this all wrong, but when else would she get this, her and Betty all alone? There was no better time, really. And that’s all she had. All she ever had. Ever since 1953, when she had changed for good, that was one of the first things that had struck her. How much time was insignificant. Before she turned, it seemed that New York never stood still. It was always rushing around her, just out of reach, and when she had made the decision to turn, to turn at 16, finally, it all slowed down. Time came to a stand still, and Veronica, for once in her life, felt like she could finally breathe.
And that’s why Veronica was so scared of messing this up. She was amazed at how quickly she had fallen for Betty. For the last 67 years, everything had crawled past her, but she fell into a whirlwind when she had met Betty. She knew that Betty liked her too, she could always tell that with people, but how was she supposed to explain to her that, one, she was a vampire, and two, that she’d have to leave eventually? And, if ever she fell in love with Betty, and Betty with her, the only way they’d be able to maintain a relationship would be to turn Betty and.. Veronica was getting way too ahead of herself. She would cross the bridge with Betty when she got there. If, she got there.
Taking a deep breath, not that she actually needed it, but it was an instinct that was hard to overcome, she walked quietly over to Betty.
“Can I kiss you?”
Betty’s eyebrows knit together, and she turned her head so fast that her ponytail swung over her face. “Um..” She had no clue how to react. No one had asked her that before.
Veronica, on the other hand, was also confused. She thought she had read Betty so well, that was her, her thing, but now, she was second guessing everything. She opened her mouth to speak, to say something, but Betty beat her to it.
“Yeah, you can kiss me.”
“Really?” was the shocked response. Betty just smiled and nodded her head, endeared by Veronica.
They closed the distance between them, and Veronica took the initiative, leaning in to kiss her. To Veronica, it was intoxicating. Betty was so warm, so sweet, and she scrabbled to get closer somehow, to hold Betty against her. She reached out with her hands, and grabbed Betty around the back of her head and neck, frantic. Veronica forgot how good it felt to kiss someone, forgot what the smell was like from a human you cared about, and she could feel herself starting to slip, could feel herself starting to venture to Betty’s neck. She squeezed her eyes shut, tried to force her fangs back up, took deep breaths through her nose that didn’t help in the slightest. A kiss on her jawline, a waft of Betty’s scent along her neck, and then a bite, letting go, forgetting, a stream of blood, and, oh, how it felt so good, so delicious..until she felt Betty freeze beneath her and make a noise, a confused thing that got caught in her throat.
Veronica stalled, opened her eyes, unaware of what she was doing. When she saw the fang marks, the perfect little circles along white flesh, she all but threw herself off of Betty, disgust racing through her body. She saw Betty hold a hand up to her neck, saw Betty pull her hand away and examine the blood, realizing what just occurred, but it was like the moment was in slow motion, blurry. The bloodlust was raging through Veronica, making her senses go out of whack, and the blood..Betty’s blood.. She needed to get out of her room, go somewhere, outside, anything, to get away from it, get away so she wouldn’t kill her friend.
She fled out of her room, out the back door to the yard, tried to breath in the night air and soil to help dissipate the smell of blood. She swiped her mouth with her wrist, too disgusted to even taste it. She was thinking of running, just pure running out of Riverdale, out of Betty’s life, until she heard a creak of her back stairs, could sense that Betty was walking down them. Her back tensed, the smell of blood thickening the air, but she couldn’t turn around, couldn’t face Betty.
“You need to leave, B,” she tried, a tone of nastiness to her voice.
A beat, and then, “I’m not leaving.”
“You need to leave, so I don’t kill you.” Veronica squeezed her eyes shut, could feel her head throbbing, but still, Betty stayed.
“I’m not going to leave you V..ever. I don’t care if you’re a..a..” Betty stumbled over her words a little, unsure of what to say.
“A killer?” Veronica supplied, chuckling in self deprecation.
“No,” Betty replied, with a shake of her head. She took a deep breath in, and then let it go. “You’re my girlfriend. I think. If you want to be. I’m...sorry. I’m still just trying to process this.”
Veronica whirled around, confused, delighted. But she held herself back, couldn’t yet get close to her..her girlfriend.
“At first, I didn’t believe that you were a vampire. Kevin was convinced, of course. But, it seemed silly, to me. You were just Veronica. My friend. Someone I cared for. And, ok, maybe you went a little Interview with the Vampire on me but..” she shrugged, looking off to the side, trying to find the right words. “You’re still just Veronica. My friend. Someone I care about. So this is something we’ll just have to work through. It’ll take time, but, I like you, V. And I’m not going to leave.”
Veronica huffed a little, couldn’t understand any of this. “How can you just, accept me, like this? I could kill you. Right now, I could kill you, and it would happen so fast that you wouldn’t even have a chance for self defense.”
“You could, but you won’t.”
Veronica considered this. She, of course, knew that she’d never do that, and if harm came to Betty in any form..she didn’t even want to think about it, but she had never known anyone like Betty, who could open their arms out to people, accept them for what they were from the get go, see the good in every person, regardless if they were human or not.
“No, I won’t.” She cautiously made her way over to Betty, still not trusting that she wouldn’t run. “I’m not ashamed, being a vampire. It can be fun. There are times where, I wish I waited, waited until I was in my 20’s to change, but back then, I had wanted it so much, I..” but words failed her at that point.
“If it’s something that you had wanted, and still do, then you shouldn’t need to apologize for it.” And god, how could Betty be like this? Be this good, and understanding? Veronica honestly felt like she could have broken down and cried right there, but she figured that the vampire thing was enough for one night. She didn’t want to have an emotional breakdown, too.
“Betty, I..” Veronica reached out her hand towards Betty’s neck, but quickly withdrew it.
“It’s ok, V. You can touch me.”
“I usually have more control than that,” Veronica admitted, sheepishly. Betty smiled, bit her lip. She grabbed Veronica’s hand with her own, and started leading her back to the house.
“Come patch me up, and we can talk. About everything.”
Before Veronica could be lead inside, though, she planted her feet firmly in the grass, and halted Betty mid stride. Even after 64 years of being a vampire, Veronica was still marveled at the underlying strength she possessed.
“Betty, I..I just need you to know something. I’m never going to hurt you again. Ever. I swear. I just got so overwhelmed, with..everything. But never again, will I hurt you. And if anybody does hurt you, I’ll..” Veronica trailed off, feeling the blood in herself, Betty’s blood, quicken. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths again, not wanting Betty to see her in her now natural form.
“I know, V.” She opened her eyes and Betty was standing right in front of her, eyes searching her own. She gave her a little kiss, then, planted her lips on Veronica’s for a second or two, before tugging on her arm. “Now, come on. I want to hear all about how The Vampire Diaries got vampires wrong.”
Veronica laughed, just barely believing that this was her new life. “You would, Betty Cooper.”
Veronica lead the way to her house, up the stairs, holding Betty’s hand all the while. “It all started with the Spellman girls..” she begun to explain, and then she closed the door.
I think jughead and Toni would be really cute together like don’t get me wrong bughead is kinda cute but I feel like she is being kinda judgmental this season so she wouldn’t approve of him if he ever did become a serpent. What’s your opinion on it?
I do think Betty would accept Jughead becoming a Serpent, but I don’t think she’d be ok with it. She also does seem really judgmental this season? The whole scene with Kevin pissed me off. I get being scared about the serial killer, but saying he doesn’t have self respect..? That angered me SO much.
I do think Jug and Toni would be a cute couple! However, shows tend to cater to the fans now, instead of just telling a story, so I don’t think it’ll ever happen. Plus, Jug and Betty’s relationship offers a dichotomy I don’t think you’d get with Jug and Toni.
