AU where Nana is related to the Addams family.
When Reborn arrives to train a civilian teenager into a mafia boss he is expecting to find a helpless and naive teenage and housewife. Instead he finds that Nana Sawada, formerly Nana Addams, has kept in close contact with her family and raised her son in the family manner.
Eccentricity, violence, a delight in horror and the macabre, fluency in french and english, ‘interesting’ holidays trips, a fierce family loyalty and above all obedience to the family motto, ’Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc’.
The Vongola has no idea what they just invited in.
Reborn soon finds that bullets and explosives don’t phase his new student, and the people he invites into the Sawadas’ life stand little chance of topping what is already there.
- Bianchi and her poison cooking? No worse than Grandmama’s potions.
- Gokudera’s explosives? Tsuna promises to introduce him to cousin Pugley and Uncle Fester, they’ll have a literal blast together :P
- Ipin & Lambo? Nana doesn’t see any problems with having weapons or fighting at their age, Tsuna was learning at that age (Tsuna declares that none of the extended family are allowed to learn about the Ten-Year Bazooka- they don’t need the temptation for time-travel)
- Mukuro? Once again Tsuna decides that Mukuro is not allowed to meet his family, primarily because he likes Mukuro and Wednesday will try to steal him.
- Chrome? Nana decides that she needs to meet her sister-in-law and niece. Chrome needs a positive female role model and a female friend, and Wednesday and Morticia will love her illusions (Tsuna agrees, everyone else doesn’t)
- Xanxus, however, is the utter shock to the Vongola as upon learning about Xanxus and the Varia, Tsuna thoroughly confuses everyone by calling Wednesday and Pugley to brag that one of his other cousins is the head of a specialist assassination squad and came all the way to Japan to fight him! (Wednesday & Pugley used to tease him that the other side of his family were ‘normal’ and thus boring).
Reborn’s only condolence is finding out that Nana has been fully aware of what her husband is involved in but doesn’t actually mind that he is away so often so hasn’t said anything. While she loves him dearly, her view is that he is a bit too delicate to survive her family, bit naive in his attitudes and worldviews :)
(Tsuna’s attitude is pretty much the same, better Ietmitsu remain ignorant least the Addams eat him alive).
