HAPPY BIRTHDAY RIVER PHOENIX š¤ Over this past year, through the process of releasing some of Riverās music and embarking on a solo record, I realized that in order to truly find my own voice, I had to include his. āTime Goneā was released Valentineās Day as a kind of time capsule love letter to River. From there the floodgates opened. RIVER will be released Halloween 2019. This first single āImmolateā is for all of us.Ā

Stand by Me is being released in 4K Blu-ray on August 27th (4 days after Riverās birthday!) w/Ā Never-Before-Seen Deleted and Alternate Scenes
Iāll post the new scenes here or on my YouTube (if I donāt get copyright striked) so everyone can see them

River Phoenix with Kevin Kline, Louise Fletcher, Joaquin Phoenix and Jamie Lee Curtis at āParenthoodā Los Angeles Premiere - July 31, 1989
āI would like to see more blacks in leading menās roles, to project a more realistic picture of who we are as a peopleā [1988] āI want to see more Spike Lees. I want to see more women, especially, up there" [1991] - River Phoenix
āHe sent a very sweet letter and a present after Larry [Olivier, her husband] died. It was a tuning fork, and the message said, āTune into life.āā ā Joan Plowright
River Phoenix would be an anomaly anywhere, let alone show business. The Oregon-born actor was named after the river of life in Hermann Hesseās Siddhartha, and spent his childhood wandering Central America with his parents, then missionaries for an organization called The Children of God. They raised an incurable idealist.Ā
āOne thing Iād like to do when I have the money,ā says the 19-year-old, āis to buy thousands of acres of Brazilian rain forest and make a national park, so no one can bulldoze it to put a McDonaldās on them. I guess people find security in a Big Mac, but thatās our oxygen!ā
The star of Stand By Me, The Mosquito Coast, Running on Empty and IndianaĀ Jones and the Last Crusade is cast in I Love You to Death as a pizza maker who joins fellow cooks William Hurt and Keanu Reeves in staging attempts on the life of pizzeria owner Kevin Kline, on behalf of Klineās jealous wife Tracey Ullman. While the picture sounds like a bizarre black comedy, Phoenix sees it as having an āemotional, even moralā resonance.
Phoenixās strong moral point of view can be explained by his āearly childhood, growing up around people that were really humble, with a lifestyle that called for a lot of faith, without moneyā¦You couldnāt be an asshole.ā
āAt one point,ā he adds, āI might decide to give up all material possessionsā¦Just move out to the jungle someplace and live like an ape-man for a while.ā
