Annie was lying in chapter 125 about not caring about lives.

She was sobbing after being basically forced to help murder Marco, she was shocked, terrified, and the only thing she could get out was "I'm sorry" to dead bodies that she didn't even know after the battle of Trost. During the 57th expedition, after she killed the OG Levi Squad, she was against the tree in her Titan form crying after Levi sliced open her mouth and grabbed Eren. It was obvious that she didn't want to kill them. She didn't want to kill anybody. Then, in the chapter, she addressed her father as someone dear to her, so she does at least come out and say that she cares about one life, but Hitch doesn't call her out on it.

She said that she would do it all over again, and this is where I got kind of annoyed, but bare with me... if she knew that all this would happen... she would do it all over again? Hitch was me. Hitch got annoyed and her expression read: "Really? You would?" Maybe even a hint disappointed because Hitch wanted her to see the damage and pain she had caused for them four years ago. I did feel bad for her though because she seemed to have given up hope of going home after addressing the fact that Eren was going to destroy the world. I guarantee that if Levi, by some miracle, met with Annie again, he might just come out and say, "You killed the one person that I loved. You and that shitty ape." Annie wouldn't be stupid. She's very observant and we see that in her part in Lost Girl's. She would know who he was talking about. She might not express it, but it would eat her alive on the inside more because she took away another life that was precious to someone else.

Annie is definitely still not one of my top ten AoT characters by any means, and for awhile I hated her, but as I got a bit older and more of her situation was revealed, I sympathized with her. It was sad that her parents gave her up, it was sad what her adoptive father's inttentions were at first: To make her a Warrior and become wealthy, forced to do things that she didn't want to or agree with, just wanting to go home to the only family she had, and only to finally come out of her crystal to figure out that even if she did go home... he wouldn't be waiting for her anyways.

He would be dead.

I would like to make a deep analysis on Eren's feelings for Mikasa after chapter 123.

Before I start though I would like to clarify one thing which antis or non shippers have been using in reference to the eremika moment.

To quote them 'Eren wanted to know mikasa's answer to check her Ackerman bond. He wanted to know if she was a slave to that bond and only with him coz of that. '

Here's your answer folks.

Eren learned about Ackerman bond when he went to Liberio which was after his talk with Mikasa so no he did not know about the bond. He wanted to know her real feelings.

Please don't say he saw through paths because Eren isn't a God who knew basically every single thing.

Ok moving on to the eremika moment.

This question right here didn't have any hidden motive it was simple out of curiosity thing which have always been in back of his mind. We see Eren crying before that watching that innocent family there. He knows what he is about to do in future to innocent families like them. And then the very next moment he is approached by the person who has always been his 'family'. Maybe seeing them triggered his emotions.

This panel right here should be proof enough for sensible readers that this scene is supposed to be having romantic overtone. Her blush, the desperation in his eyes and they both seem to be tearing up here especially Eren. I haven't seen him this vulnerable in a long time.

The last time we saw his face like this was in chapter 102.

Oh look it's coz of Mikasa again. Wow what a surprise I didn't expect that.

Eren showed his vulnerability, his softness right at this moment begging for Mikasa to answer truthfully. Even though he might have known her answer before due to paths but he was still hopeful.

I can't believe I am going to say this but Mikasa messed up. She did what she always do when put in a spot like this. Use the f word. Eren have never been this straight forward with her, she was caught off guard. Yes Mikasa is a badass and strong girl but you must remember she is also an awkward and shy person. She was afraid if she said the L word, Eren might not feel the same and it would get weird between them so she chose the safest option. Most people would have done the same if they were in her position.

Look at his face my poor soft boy. He wanted her to show the beauty in this cruel world. Mikasa's character always revolves around it. He wanted her love. He wanted her to show that beautiful emotion to him.

Note to the readers: Eren still was with his squad and he appeared lost in previous panels so he was still confused whether he wanted to go along with his plan or perhaps take a different route. He wanted Mikasa to show him that route somehow. He wanted to know if he had something or someone waiting for him with that pure feeling which he felt.

This scene cackled me cos they got interrupted by that old man and then the whole squad. Maybe he wanted to dig deeper and force the confession out of her. He wasn't done talking to her. I wonder what would have happened if they didn't get interrupted.

This scene is funny and sad at the same time. Eren is probably upset as he lost the last chance of love and now he have to move forward with his original plan. Meanwhile Mikasa is still blushing and wondering what he actually wanted to hear. And look at the rest of them giving eremika suspicious looks. They figured by their body language that something is off with them. Lol it's like straight out of a shojo novel. But I am not complaining. And my boy Eren decides to have fun for the last time with his friends. He probably also decided to get drunk coz of Mikasa's kinda rejection.

And is that jealousy I sense on his face? His two best friends be chilling while he is having inner battle. He is probably like my heart just got broken Mikasa won't tell me the truth, here I am a mess but you are smiling like you don't care about our moment outside.

This is the most precious panel in this chapter. Eren is a heavyweight drinker according to isayama so he is still fine but others passed out. Still our baby boy chose to lie beside his best friend and the woman he love.

Those ema feels are real man.

Next we have Mikasa doubting herself if she had perhaps chosen to answer differently would there be different consequences. It's back to what ifs.

I am conflicted about this part. On one hand I do believe Eren wouldn't go to this extreme if she perhaps had told him the truth and tried to reason with him. Maybe Eren would have been honest about his plans but since he was dissappointed by her answer he just cut off the ties. That was his last cue. No matter what anyone says Mikasa's words were the final nail in the coffin and he isolated himself from everyone cos he sincerely believed he lost the chance to love or see that this world was worth saving. He gave up.

And he knew what actions he was going to take so he decided to become the monster and tried to make his own friends hate him.

Here family is definitely referring to Mikasa. He knows the actions he will take would hurt Mikasa alot. She will be dissappointed in him. She saw him as her saviour, as humanity's hope but he is going to annihilate everyone.

And that does happen when Mikasa questions him with sadness in 102.

Her feelings are the ones which matters to him the most. We also see a similar scenario to 123 in 112.

Here Eren got hopeful for a spit second. He wondered if she was finally going to confess to him. Again a what if.

But instead she repeats the same thing again and Eren is just tired of hearing it. He interrupts her in between. He just gives up here. He knows then and there that there is no chance for them now. He is done with her half assed answers. He is tired of it.

This here is a combination of everything he feels. The anger the betrayal the heartbreak. A part of him is angry at her for not being honest. The part which yearns for her love. I am one of those people who believe this anger right here is real. It originates because of the hurt he feels not once but twice by the love of his life He is pissed at her for breaking his heart. He gave her two opportunities and she didn't use any of them.

But Eren using the hate word is also a lie. He does love her so much to the point he gets mad and hurts her badly. He goes overboard.

Two lies don't make it right. Both Eren and Mikasa lied in 112 and 123. Now we are back to square one.

Both are at fault. Eren wanted to hear her confess so badly that he forgot he could do that too. He is being hypocritical. He wants Mikasa to be truthful to him while he himself never told her his feelings. Oh the angst.

In this opening 4 we can clearly see Eren's hand reaching out for her so desperately. Eren always got mad at Mikasa for being clingy but the truth is he don't know how to live without her either. He yearns for her love badly too to the point if she had given him that he could have changed his mind and chosen a different path.

There are tons of other proof about his feelings too but I just wanted to address 123 now and I think that chapter was enough to show it.

They both are in love with each other but the world is a cruel place 💔.

I still strongly believe that Mikasa would be the one to save him and perhaps they would have that big moment together where they both will speak out the truth. This is what Eremika is leading to. It's all angst and heartbreak till now so I am hoping for that positive moment.

What do you think Eren’s reaction was when he saw his future with his ability and he saw him and Mikasa getting together as a couple but also, you know, getting it on? Because we know this happened. Em is canon after all 💁🏽‍♀️
