The sea is a temple. The woods are a temple. Your own bedroom is a temple. The world is imbued with the spiritual. Worship is an act, not a place, and it can happen spontaneously, in reaction to the beauty of a moment.
Embrace the cycles within yourself but remember that it's all the same you ❤️
I have a strange tendency to have dreams that are structured like video games where I repeatedly respawn at the start of the dream until I "beat the level." Last night I had one of those dreams.
I kept waking up in the middle of a crowded movie theater and heard a voice in my head that said "you need to get out of here NOW!" Each time I tried to leave the theater, something different happened.
On the final "round" I tried to get up from my seat in the theater and my physical body sat up in bed, waking me up from the dream. I swear I heard the voice in my head say "don't forget this." I wonder if this was like... preparation for a real life scenario?
I very firmly believe that every house/home has at least one trickster spirit. And that they are an important part of the spiritual ecosystem. And, as long as you pay their fees, they'll be on your side and not work against you.
Working on the next kit, a sampler of 7 different handmade incenses. Making incense is the messiest and most time and labor heavy task I do, but creating different blends makes it a fun job. Tonight I’m making an all-natural vetiver and bergamot stick and the Hag Hut smells amazing. What’s your favorite incense scent? Do you make your own?

Oh how I love being a witch
the thing about magic being whatever you want isnt thought about enough.
like yeah, some people say money bowls or stirring intention into your coffee and what have you.
but have you ever thought about making an energy and dream battery where you can take the energy burned/collected around you to power your spells?
have you ever used magic in your favorite games?
have you ever used magic to manifest that you would get free food or extras at fast food somehow?
PLEASE start using magic in unhinged ways
When I first moved into my uncle's basement in 2021, I would find wolf spiders in my room like every few weeks. I don't really mind spiders but I was worried about accidentally stepping on one or getting bitten in my sleep. So I did some witchery to solve the problem.
I created a thoughtform. Or servitor? Idk what to call it but I designed a sigil, did some energy work, and gave it a name. Its purpose was to keep all creepy crawlies out of my room. Once activated, I never saw a single spider in that room again.
I lived there for about 2 years and through every season, my room was spider free. I still found them in the house, but never in my room. Hurray for witchcraft!
The best way I can describe clairsenses is that you’re dreaming while you’re wide awake.
So imagine what it feels like to be asleep and having really vivid dreams. Notice how this is different from the experience of thinking up ideas, or even just "zoning out", especially since dreams can come with very vivid vibes that we can feel in the body long after waking up.
Alright.
Now imagine that faculty being active and just as vivid while you're completely awake. Additionally, what you experience in the dreams is operating in tandem with what you experience in your daily life, so these two streams are actually working off of each other.
The combined information you get from these two streams creates the Secret Third Knowledge, and that's what people learn, understand, and experience with clairsenses.
Currently this shit goes in and out for me—and when it's on it's never really all that strong—but the difference in how I experience the world when it's on vs. when it's off is complete night and day.
First, your perspective of what's actually important in life dramatically changes.
Second, the way you interpret what people are saying dramatically changes.
And lastly, your ability to understand the world around you dramatically improves. The universe is a vinyl record of information and your mind is a needle that reads it.
So it's not even just an ability that lets you know whether a spirit is standing there or not. It lets you unpack all kinds of information about the circumstances surrounding you.
This post is brought to you by the fact I'm currently stuck half-way between having this sense on and off, and holy fuck it feels exactly like if you took a cliffhanger in a story (and not the fun kind) and amplified that feeling by a thousand.
What a great metaphor
Question for my fellow witches: do you believe in luck? If so, where do you think it comes from? What causes someone to be lucky?
Oh what a good question!! I never even considered this…
I believe in luck because it’s a cultural thing. Sooo much of my culture has charms and stories about improving good luck and avoiding bad luck.
Maybe it’s just a placebo, maybe it’s just something you can’t change. But I think your luck is directly influenced by the energy in your life. So lucky spells draw in that kinda energy, just as bad luck spells draw in the corresponding energy.
If you have bad luck that doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, maybe your energy has just gone stagnant and you’re in need of a good ol’ refresh!
Lucky energy can be manipulated just as any energetic current. It comes from people, the stories and the lives we live.
You can reverse someone’s luck to work against them like when a magnet gets flipped and it repels itself if you need to. You can also dial up the magnets power to bring in more good luck for them if wanted as well!
I like the idea of comparing lucky energy to magnetic forces! With that approach, I imagine that if you spend enough time in close proximity to a lucky person, some of that energy might rub off onto you (if I understand magnets correctly, that is)
Very interesting perspective!
Witches and practitioners: How much do you believe in magic itself? Are you sure it exists, or nah?
I don’t really “believe” and that’s fine, my path has other importance to me
I want to believe but I can’t say that I do just yet
I do believe sometimes, but it’s fleeting or tenuous
I mostly believe in magic but I maintain a lot of skepticism
I believe in magic, but I’m never 100% sure
I completely believe in magic. I have no doubts that it’s real.
What did I stumble onto?/Nuance/see answers
Question for my fellow witches: do you believe in luck? If so, where do you think it comes from? What causes someone to be lucky?
How strange, I had a dream where I saw my own reflection in a mirror. That never happens. Just like how people say you never see your phone in dreams (something I have also done before)
Whew, finally back from school! Now that I’m free, it’s time to reassemble one of my best school essentials for next quarter—tiny, reusable packets of herbs that are perfect for spells on the go (or spicing up a dull meal…what’s the difference, really?).
While I love the look of tiny bottles for portable ingredients, they’re not as space-saving as these repurposed straws. So though my best staples get bottled for easiest refills, I like to keep the odd ingredient (or extra backups of the classics) rattling around in my pockets like this! Some things to keep in mind:
Only melt the ends as they’re separated from the herbs by the pliers/tweezers—food safe plastic or not, you still don’t want that melting on your ingredients!
Most straws work for this, but thin plastic straws may warp and bubble further up the tube before the ends seal shut; try a few tests, and heat with care.
While I always carry around a pen knife, if you don’t, consider keeping these in a little pocket tin with a razor blade for easy opening. Cutting the small notch in the end is pretty effective for fingers-only opening, but may cause leaks in fluid-filled packets and should be avoided in those cases. Small, neat incisions with a knife also make for easier sealing for reuse!
EDIT: while I didn’t touch on it too much here, I also use these to prepare ready-made spells. If you’re doing this, consider matching the color of the candle and straw to the spell intent!
Every time I see magic spelled with a 'k' I get a twinge of physical revulsion.
