I have a couple I write in regularly. One’s for my shitty poetry, and then the other is more like a diary. And I have one where I write notes to myself, because my memory’s kind of terrible. Did you get to change your name officially, or is it more about just introducing yourself as Laine and then no one will accidentally call you by the one that didn’t fit? I just think... RJ suits me better than my actual name, which makes me sound a bit like a truck stop waitress. Not that I’m knocking truck stop waitresses.

Do you like it? I mean... you probably do if you’ve stayed, but... I’m still trying to get a feel for the place. I don’t do a lot. Um... just write shitty poetry and play my cello. Though the cello’s not so much a hobby if it’s what I study, right? What about you?

I’ve only really opened up my sheet music and my journals, but I don’t have much else than that, so that’s almost like being unpacked. The clothes are coming out slowly, but surely... I just grab something when I want it. That’s cool... Picking your name. I picked mine in a way, but it’s really just shortening the name I was given, so that’s not the same.

I mean, I used to do that. Until someone stole the little jars I kept everything in. Had to give the hobby up after that, move on to saving every flyer handed to me when I’m walking the streets. I could poster my whole apartment in those.

Tourists make me want to rip my hair out. If you need a selfie in the middle of the intersection, that bad, maybe you should reassess how much you depend on social media.

I think there should be a law against stopping in front of people in general... In the street, on the sidewalk. Don’t stop in the middle of the sidewalk to open your map or take a selfie either, you know?
