It’s a bunch of cookies and cake and shit.” Kali handed it to the first person who caught her eye, sliding a big foiled wrapped plate of food over the counter as she stood on the other side of the bar, as one of her bartenders served other patrons at the club. “You’re not allowed to say no I already packed you a plate. Merry Easter.”

“Inasmuch as I’d like to appreciate the gesture, I’m here for a drink. Not a ‘bunch of cookies and cake and shit.’ You’re momming me more than your four year old. Just hide it at the topmost level of your fridge. I’m not leaving this place carrying food wrapped in foil.” He was being mean again and he didn’t even have a long day at work. Realizing this, he tried to make up for it by smiling and saying, “No offense. I’m sure it’s delicious.”
