You could have fired him and you didn’t, I get that. And he was a grouchy prick, I get that, too. But why wait so long? He fired half the staff before you intervened. You didn’t not ask for my opinion or moral judgement either; you and Max are made the same, you don’t like it when someone points out your flaws. I'm not prone to make rash judgments, Ms. Stark. If the situation can be salvaged I prefer to salvage it, it's much more economical than starting from scratch. And I'm aware of my flaws, I won't be needing that particular service of yours either. 

Do me a favor, dear, and never call me that again. If I do have nicknames I'd prefer they not sound like they belong to fifty-year-old English postmen.

“Right, not a brothel…” she mumbled under her breath as Robert helped her with the door. Juliet knew deep in her gut that she could make the Ville rise like no other member of her family had done before. She was going to have the whole world talking about the amazing accommodations and services that it provided. Words wouldn’t even be enough to describe the quality of the hotel. It had all crumbled down in the blink of an eye and she was devastated, all thanks to the man who was now standing before her, a glass of expensive scotch in hand. 

“Oh, yes. I was aching to return to the place my father decided to give away, ruining my well traced life plan. I’m enthused to be here, Mr. Chestefield!” Juliet said with fake cheer as she raised her glass, some of the contents of the liquid spilling on her dress. “Fuck,” she groaned but quickly returned her attention to Robert, the alcohol not letting her concentrate much on anything. “Cheers to…being in each other’s lovely company.” The sarcasm was noticeable in her tone and the little smirk she wore on her lips was the final touch.

Any number of responses ran through his head, about entitlement and about the way things worked in a capitalist market when someone showed weakness, about complacency and assumptions that things would work out the way that you'd planned. He said none of it, held his tongue, because even in her current state of inebriation Juliet likely would not take kindly to that--and he wanted to preserve the wary ceasefire they had going now, especially if he could get her any more drunk because of it. 

He smiled when she spilled part of the drink on herself but said nothing to that either--simply holding his own glass in the illusion that he might drink from it soon, but he certainly hadn't yet. "To being in each other's company." He raised the glass to her proposed cheer but still didn't drink, watching her. "So I take it you have intentions on reclaiming your birthright? Or is this really just a concession to nostalgia?"

The statuesque brunette’s view was cloudy and her balance, though still good enough for her to stand still, was already starting to fail. She was drunk. Wow, what a novelty. If anything, Juliet had made it a habit of drinking before going to bed. Normally it was a simply shot of scotch and in private, but today she had gone out of her way. The alcohol now running freely through her blood stream definitely accomplished it’s goal in relaxing her and, yet, Juliet couldn’t tell why she was still feeling like shit. There she was, a beautiful, intelligent and powerful woman, looking for company in a service she didn’t even approve. She had to admit, as much as it pained her, that the escort service was magnificent, but it would be the first thing she would eradicate the second in which she got hold of the Ville once and for all. As much as it served to take the guest’s stay to the next level, it was too risky to have such business in the hotel. That was exactly the reason why she had refused to go to the police the second she found out about the undercover service. If the information got out, the Ville would lose it’s reputation and be shut down for good. As much as she would enjoy witnessing Robert Chesterfield being handcuffed and taken to prison; Juliet couldn’t risk it. 

Robert’s voice forced her to roll her eyes as she turned towards him, her lips pursed into a thin line. “A little celebration, Mr. Chesterfield.” She hated the way she stumbled on her next step. She was a drunk mess; not only she was semi-slurring her words but she had allowed him to walk her to her room and that alone was prove that her mind had been clouded by alcohol. “Something to celebrate being at the Ville again and seeing how it has become a brothel.” Juliet stated, inwardly wanting to slap herself across the face for not being able to control her tongue. She needed to remember who she was talking to and his intentions. “You should try it from time to time. Might help erase that dull expression from your face.”

"No, my dear, a brothel is much cheaper," he corrected her mildly--waiting for her to get her key into the door, always a challenge with drunk coordination, but she managed. He got his hand on the door as soon as she did, opening it with his shoulder so that he could lead her carefully into the room, making sure she was safely sitting on the bed before he moved away.

"I don't drink much, Ms. d'Amont, but I think I'd be willing to make an exception." He located the mini-bar without much difficulty--he knew the floorplans for each kind of suite fairly well, though he supposed she could probably say much the same. "Since you've said it's a celebration." He poured two glasses, and brought one back to her, handing over the crystal tumbler carefully until he was sure she had a solid grip on it before he let go. "I take it you're happy to be home."

Of all the sights he'd expected to see tonight in his hotel, drunk Juliet d'Amont had not been one of them--on the occasions he'd met her before she'd always seemed so composed and put-together, quite different than she was now. But he wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak, he took advantages where he saw them, whether it was her father with his weakness for cards, or Juliet in his bar just the slightest bit unsteady on her feet. 

He had his arm around her waist, lightly and as unintrusively as it could be considering the circumstances--she did need some support to get back to her room, and she had to accept it from him right now as he led her patiently, steadily down the hallway to her suite. "What's the occasion, if you don't mind me asking?" he said as they got to her door, stepping back slightly to let her get her room key. "Or were you just looking to unwind?"
