Do you still take prompts? If so, how about “It wasn’t his to take, it’s not mine to keep, it’s yours.” -Z
Todoroki Shouto fumbled with the notebook in his hands. It felt like stolen property. Well, kinda it was double stolen. That wasn’t the point.
He wasn’t sure how to go about it. His fingers tightened around the pages. He couldn’t very well waltz up to Midoriya and say, “Oh hey I noticed Bakugou stole your weird hero book so I took it back from him before he could ruin it anymore.”
That was a definite no.
His eyes trailed down to it. This was a newer book. He knew the green-haired male had several. But a few of his older ones have scorch marks while others were just worn from years of love and overuse.
‘I wonder if I’m in here.’ Shouto thought. Almost immediately he shook his head. What did it matter if he was? Midoriya had already admitted to writing down facts of all of A class. Him being in there would be nothing special.
His chance was slowly escaping. It wasn’t often that the freckled hero was seen without his friends.
“Midoriya!” He called out, swallowing his nerves.
Deku- no Todoroki wouldn’t call him that. That was a horrible childhood taunt given to him by Bakugou. He didn’t want Midoriya to think of the blonde in his presence- Midoriya turned to him, a little startled.
“Todoroki? Is there something you need?” He was as formal as always.
“Oh, yes.” The Icy Hot hero tried not to stumble over his words. “I have this for you.”
His hands slightly shook as he held out the book. He hadn’t really taken a look at it, other than confirming that it was indeed Midoriya’s notebook.
“Oh!” The shorter male beamed. “I thought Kacchan had taken it.”
“Well he did, but it wasn’t his to take. And it’s not mine to keep. It’s yours. You should keep it in a safer place.”
“I will! Thank you, Todoroki.” Izuku took the book into his arms and hugged it tightly to his chest. “Kacchan was really angry when he took it so I thought I’d never see it again.”
“Why was he so angry?” Shouto blurted. “If you don’t mind me asking.”
“Not at all.” Those green eyes look down fondly at the pages. A small blush colored his cheeks. “This is actually one of my older ones that Kacchan burned in middle school. Most of it had water damage, and a good portion was burned, but it had all of my notes on my two favorite heroes in it so I wanted to keep those original pages safe. Almight’s signature was important of course, but this is where all of my notes on Kacchan go. He was mad when he found out how much I had on him.”
'So it was about Bakugou.’ He wanted to sigh. “So you keep your favorites together?”
“Well, I don’t know… I suppose.”
Todoroki leaned in. “Would you think about adding my page there? I would even sign it for you.”
And make you forget all about Bakugou.
