“Alright then.” It didn’t seem like a point to argue or press on the matter since he knew it was going to lead nowhere and only cause more problems. “So now it’s all lands on me then?” He asked. Setting his silverware down, Taylor took a small breath and took a sip of his water before he continued on, “Maybe I’m just tired of things always ending the same. We fight, we make-up, we’re okay, and then you shut me out each time I try to change things up like suggesting a sitter or try to do something as a father.” He knew that their last argument had made a dent in their relationship, and he didn’t know how to make it stop bothering him. “I know you’re going to therapy for it, but I’m tired, Emma. We can’t keep putting aside our arguments and try to make it seem like everything’s fine between us by going to visit family members or jump back to how things used to be when it’s not supposed to be that way. And it has been from the very beginning. It’s exhausting.” Even with their arguments back before they got married or before Payton came along, things have always remained the same and Taylor finally wanted to bring it up.
Emma shook her head, looking at Taylor. "It is not about landing on you or being your fault, it is not about fault, Taylor." Then she heard what he had to say after it, not sure if she got what he meant. Of course she knew she was not big on arguments but at the same time she didn't knew what he wanted, to never make things ok? That it was a problem on the fact that somehow they managed to make things okay after a while? That was what couples did, after all, they had to work on their problems to make things okay again. "Ok..." Emma thought about it, really trying to understand and looked at him. "But that is the point tonight, babe, I am trying to understand this, ok? I really am. I want to know what can make it less exhausting for you, and it is not about forgetting there is a problem, I swear to you I don't want that, I want us to get in the center of it, make it all clear and then we can help each other to find the solution for it if there is one." She thought about how to explain herself better. "And I am not making us dinner so we can pretend things are okay, I know that it is not, but at the same time just ignoring each other doesn't seems like a better option, if you want to tell me things you can, I am here, I am gonna listen. And maybe I won't like it, I won't be here pretending I have the best temper out there because I know I don't but I promise you I am open to hear what you have to say here, because I don't want to lose you... or us? But I also don't want you to keep pushing on being with me if it is making you unhappy. I know it is a lot to ask, for you to help me with this, I know you don't always should be the one telling me what is wrong but... we can change it. You can tell me what you feel and the problems and then we can try to fix it but only if we give fixing a chance."
