“Wear Your Love Like Heaven” acrylic and collage on canvas, 90”x42”(2022). This painting commemorates the “Summer of Love” with an underlying collage of news stories and photos from newspaper accounts of that summer in San Francisco in 1966, and the calligraphic figures “dancing in the streets.” Positive and sunny colors run across the canvas.

I painted this to commemorate and express the tremendous loss and grief I felt 42 years ago when John Lennon was assassinated. The underlying collage was made of print media such as Time and Rolling Stone magazines, and the dancing figures fall from the sky like a must of tears.
