imagine it’s January 1st, 3000. tumblr somehow lives through several dozen companies like the cockroach it is. the code is barely recognizable. the entire website, now a repository of nearly a thousand years of posts, is petabytes in servers that, due to techological advances, are still barely larger than they are today. English isn’t even recognizable and you see this, a post in language a millennium out of date referencing a show that’s been dead almost as long.

Star Wars shower thought

ok, in fanfiction of a humorous nature, anyone but Anakin being assumed as the father of Padme's babies is used as a tool of rage/annoyance by him.

but am I the only one who thinks PADME would be really, unbelievably, hilariously annoyed by the assumption otherwise?!

for starters, it has been established in canon that her own sister is a single mother by choice through a medical procedure, something that is not unusual on Naboo. Padme might expect people to assume that is the logical conclusion.

then as much as she keeps her relationship with Anakin a "secret" she probably wouldn't be down with letting people think someone else is the father given her circle. Bail? happily married and she would never do that to Breha. Clovis? ignoring the fact the timing is off by months [Thrawn: Ascendancy and Dark Disciple take place after that ARC and Padme isn't pregnant in either of those stories] why does everyone assume she had anything other to do than business with the traitor that tried to rape her??? Typho? you're mixing her up with Dorme also that is completely unprofessional and even if it wasn't why would she feel the need to keep that a secret? Palpatine?....YOU THINK THE FATHER OF HER CHILD IS AN OLD, WRINKLY MAN?!!! Obi Wan? how is that your conclusion when Obi Wan isn't even the second Jedi she sees the most?! [granted Ahsoka is off the table as Togrutas can't impregnate the same sex...to our knowledge] also she would rather it not be assumed that the father is a Jedi for obvious reasons.

frankly i can see her being like "WHY ARE YOU ARGUING ABOUT THIS WHEN PEOPLE ARE DYING!!" AND THOSE ARE SO MANY NAMES, JUST WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPLY ABOUT ME?!!!

The makeup effects of Anthony Hickox's Waxwork (1988) were handled by Bob Keen's Image Animation. Bob Keen had just worked on Hellraiser, and for Waxwork many future talents were among his team, such as Dave Elsey (who did Farscape, Revenge of the Sith and the Wolfman remake), Paul Jones (who did Ginger Snaps and the What We Do in the Shadows series), Mark Coulier (who did Poor Things, various Harry Potter movies and The Mummy Returns) and Neill Gorton (who did 2005 iteration of Doctor Who, and From Hell) Many of the Waxwork creatures were homages to classic horror and realized as either prosthetic makeups, masks or animatronic heads. The snakeman was an animatronic head with body prosthetics. The werewolf was inspired by The Howling's werewolves by Hickox's admission, and was a suit and animatronic head.

Waxwork is underseen and underrated even in the horror community. effects are truly fascinating and it's a load of bloody fun.

in case you haven't heard, parts of venezuela were recently hit by a series of earthquakes, affecting communities across the country.

as venezuela is my home country, all of this hits especially close to home. thankfully, my family and loved ones are safe since they were in cities not as severely affected. however, many others have not been as fortunate and are now facing the aftermath of these events.

years of political and economic instability have left many communities with limited resources and infrastructure, making it even more difficult to respond to emergencies like this. there are reports of people who remain missing, and many families are still waiting for news about their loved ones. rescue efforts have been made even more difficult by shortages of equipment, ambulances, and other emergency resources needed to respond to a disaster of this scale.
