while grian and false are both "avians", due to grian becoming an avian (more accurately a harpy) due to the watchers while false was born an avian, they have alot of differences about the way they act that alot of hermits dont realize.

they both like to make nests, but while false tends to build treehouses filled with sticks and leaves to nest in, grian makes his nests in his friends houses. mumbo often wakes up to see a pile of his own blankets and pillows next to his window with a grian sleeping in that pile.

grian has more feathers than false, and while a few hermits think its a sex difference thing, its actually another species difference. as said before, grian is a harpy while false is a regular avian. harpies grow feathers on their whole body minus their head and neck, while avians only have a few body feathers near their wings and ears. avians also dont grow face wings, while harpies do. grian also needs to be preened far more than false but thats kind of a given due to the larger amounts of feathers he has

they also make different noises, false makes high pitched chirps and wirrs while grian makes squacks (like a parrot does) ((though he only does that when surpirsed)), he also makes a loud kind of purring sound sometimes when calm

grian also has bigger wings than false, but since grian can shapeshift the type of bird he is his wing size isnt really consistant

only people that theyve told(and people that know the two very well) realize theyre different species, everyone else just assumes theyre both avians. "but then why does grian have bird feet and false doesnt?!" nah both avians. "why can grian change his bird type but false cant?" just two avian gals. "why do they nest differently??" two friendly neighborhood avians. yep definitely. (<- thats what grian says when people ask about it, he doesnt really like people knowing hes a hapry)

can someone who's awesome and cool please explain the lore/ common headcanons that hermitcraft has going on? I'm vaguely aware that something known as "watcher grain" was from another SMP, and people seem to involve other smps in like? Character backstories?

Speaking of, just to clarify, is there generally a kayfabe thing going on here? Like, each Minecraft youtuber is ostensibly themselves, but a heightened and performed version which can be understood as characters and are elaborated on by the fandom? Honestly I'm only just getting into this after having peripherally watched grian in 2020 or so, so there's a lot of stuff in the tag that I'm seeing but not understanding lol :P

Additionally if someone could tell me if there's a specific reason why some hermits (if that the collective term you use which I think it is (?)) are drawn with wings, and others are drawn without, even though the majority of them have had elytra at or another by process of elimination alone, I'd love to know, even if it is like. Headcanon.

Anyway any groovy information would be greatly appreciated because I really want to know more about all of this haha

Hi I only know a bit but here is some common head cannons and some explanations why but take everything with a Grian of salt. Hehe. Some common head cannon are that scar and cub are vexes *idk much about why but they are*.Grian is commonly head cannoned as an avian .*bird person * Watcher are god like creatures that use powers to basically destroy servers and in the early days they destroyed an smp called ego and took their admin and forcefully turned Grian and pearl into one of them .In secret life scar went insane because he was tormented by the watchers aka didn’t die at the end of the series like all of the other lifers. Mumbo is a lot of the time headcannoned as a vampire and so is tango. Tango also is seen a lot as a fire person thing.*edited I ment blazeborn *Etho commonly is seen as a wolf hybrid and bdubs a moss one. A lot of the hermits are drawn with wings becauseh of different species having them like a dog hybrid wouldn’t really make sense for it to have parrot wings .A lot of people have it so watchers/ watcher controlled people have better eye sight. Watchers see the worlds through eyes in the sky or just make eyes appear randomly in spaces. Bdubs I think is also considered a listener i don’t know much about listeners they seem to be against the watcher but also sometimes see to be underneath them. I think that should answer you questions but tell me if you have anymore. also scar can be seen as a cat hybrid and ren a dog one. Also doc as a creeper hybrid and gem as a dragon one and zedaph as a sheep one .if I think of any others I’ll put them hear.

Grian head cannon

during 3rd life scar told Grian that hair holds memories. Ever since After the finale he has been letting his hair grow out more he doesn’t want to forget scars embrace ,the desert sky or his love for scar.
