Hello :) This will (hopefully!) be my first time participating in RoChu Week, and I have a couple of questions. Is there a minimum or maximum word count for fanfics? Also, besides submitting them to you, are we allowed to post them on AO3 using the RoChu Week tag? Thanks in advance xx

There is no minimum or maximum word count for fics! Feel free to write however little or much as you want :)

Using the RoChu Week tag on AO3 is welcome, as it also helps to notify others of this event! Ensure that you do tag #rochuweek and mention us over on Tumblr here as well so that we can reblog it.

Prompt Submissions Open!

RoChu Week will be returning this summer after hiatus, taking place from the 8th to the 14th of August. For those of you who haven’t participated in RoChu Week before, or just need a reminder, here’s what’s going to happen:

People will send us “prompts” via the ask box. Prompts could be vague ideas like “winter” or “allies” or specific situations like “cooking dinner together.”

When we have enough of those, we’ll create a poll where people can vote for their favourite prompts, and the prompts with the most votes will be included in the ship week.

Each day of the ship week will be assigned two prompts. On that day, you can post any fanworks that you’ve made based on either prompt (or both, if you’re up for a challenge!). Make sure to use #rochuweek within the first five tags, and we’ll reblog it here. You can also submit it directly to the blog if you prefer.

Fanworks can be anything at all; fanfiction, drawings, gifsets, headcanons, cosplay, videos, etc.

If that sounds like something you’d be interested in, please submit as many prompts as you like and follow this blog for more information! If you have any questions, check out our FAQ, and if you don’t find your answer there, you can drop us an ask.

Sorry for being a bit of a bother, but I can’t seem to DM you (this is the anon who asked if RoChu week is still running). I’d be glad to run it, but is it possible if you could let me know how to contact you outside of a DM? Again, sorry for asking again and I hope I can be a part of the team :)

You don't have to answer this, but I'm asking if you still run RoChu week? It's just I would really like to see it return...

Hi anon! It's so nice to hear that you'd like RoChu Week return. Unfortunately both me and the other mod won't be able to run it this year, but we'd be very happy for others to run it!

If you or anyone else is interested, please send a DM. I can add you as an admin to the rochuweek blog and show you the ropes, although it's nothing complicated so don't be put off if you haven't run something like this before :')

I had planned to draw something for RoChu (Russia/ China) Week 2017 at @rochuweek, but lazy and irresponsible I was never able to do it, so I decided to participate in RoChu Week 2020, which was held from October 26 to November 1, 2020.  The themes were:

Day 1: Tea

Day 2: Love at First Sight 

Day 3: Hades and Persephone

Day 4: Mutual Pining

Day 5: “A match made in heaven.”

Day 6: Moon and Stars

Day 7: “And there was only one bed…”

“Hello Russia! Thanks for inviting me!”

“Oh yes…I forgot… we have only one bed in all Russia”

“Uh? In all Russia? And how is that?”

“Well…we…have a new decreet… that says that we must have only one bed”

“But…why?”

“Uhm…because we love our guest and we have to…warm up them. It’s cold here.”

“Well, that’s okay! If the laws say so…”

“And we can’t use pajamas or clothes when we go to sleep.”

“And why is that?”

“Because…that’s the law”

“You really have weird laws here. I’m sensitive to the cold… you should stay really close to me this night… maybe embrace me… that’s isn’t against the law, right?” (China smirk)

Shocking even myself I will actually manage to participate in rochu week this year. Thank you @rochuweek for setting this event up! Decided the prompt “A Match Made In Heaven” would be a best fit for what I had on my mind.
