@rocklide94
i could not follow it one bit i was completely confused i fond no point i could not even get to the next page
run on sentence : For tomorrow read to page 80, of Spiegelman's graphic novel and post about why you think he chose that format.
I believe that Spiegelman chose to do it in this format because he wanted to show his father that the drawings he made were profitable. He also wanted to show his father that people would be interested in his tale. as for why they are mice I have absolutely no idea
If we talk about our paper for the essay should we talk about it as if we had written it or as if we are someone else had read it and is given there understanding of it??
should it be something like" I drew the swords on the cover because..." or "The sword could mean ...."
I am not sure so I am going to do it from the third person perspective.
The section that stuck out to me the most was that of the consciousness neither help but they need to get in the way. The concept stick out to me because i am a psychology major and it was also very philosophical. the part about our generation having no patients is completely true. the only other thing i got from the lecture was that there is no one way to view/interpret Dickinson's poem
when and where is the presentation tomorrow?
In this part the they are trying to guess and give hypothesis about Dickinson's word choice. another thing that i had picked up on while i was reading was that it almost sounded like that those two poems are connected in some way. the rest of the article is mostly about why did she word things the way she did because the almost of the diction she used can be interpreted as the literal meaning of the word and as a metaphorical or symbolic meaning.
intro reading response
The fascicle were found to be her own ideal and the way she wanted to portray her thoughts but she did not do it in a way that wasn't so direct. The other thing the article tells is that because of people we will never know what is the original manuscripts were. She has many undefined reasons for what she writes and the reasons behind it.
My positions on the the poem stay as they were i still believe that is about her not being seen as an equal. however I do think that the second stanza has a different understanding. It is about the the pointlessness of imprisoning in essence freedom and contributes to the oxymoron i saw the first time because freedom can't be imprisoned because then it isn't free any more.
they shut me up in the prose
The first thing is that there is no identified person that does this to her. The "still" is very vague in its, in its first appearance it could be viewed as they like her but not the way she is. Then is seems like it was heading towards contentment and then there is the line "look down opon Captivity" which looks like discontentment and a hint of rebellion. The last line sound like an oxymoron it is like it is saying to laugh but there is nothing funny to laugh at.
