it's seggin hours!!!! gorsh i love this annoying old man he's so angy >:F some thoughts as always below the cut~

Not much context here, I just wanted to see my fav crazy warrior man swing at something more defined than a white void for once,,, so here he is doing his thing in one of the Calamity battles

A moment in time when both Seggin and Bazz were active in the Guard at the same time (Bazz is like,,, maybe 70/80 here thus the lack of eyebags lol). I mostly just wanted to see the contrast between the father and the son.

Seggin most likely trained Sidon at spear and trident...manship(?) right. And probably wasn't as fond of him as he was of Mipha (sad, but we love to see a shark prince suffer in this house). Anyway, this Seggin is talking to a teen Sidon, that's the context. I need to draw something better about this, it's just so interesting of a concept hmm

Teeny tiny baby Bazz! I really wanted to draw Seggin like. Not Scowling for once, and looking at his very tiny son is a believable scowl-less moment right. Seggin wasn't always a mean cranky hater, it was a Process. Here he's genuinly excited about raising a really cool kid. Also hey Bazz's Mom, haven't seen you in a while.

A scene placed earliest in the timeline, it's Seggin's and Trello's early Guard years, they're in their early 100s here (it was so weird drawing Seggin without his eyebags and he doesn't even have the face scar yet) Anyway Trello's having Girl Problems and Seggin's making fun of it (but like, barely in a mean way, he's still nice-ish).

i needed pre-calamity Seggin in my life. i have so many thoughts on just how charismatic he could be when he's not trying to be everyone's worst nightmare. we already know he's a sassy yapper who will embarrass anyone who deserves it, but goddddd, a softer side of Seggin??? think again😂

i loved this so much i did it in one sitting. my laptop is on 6%. would do it again.

Seggin’s always known what he wants

but as soon as he lays eyes on you…

everything changes

despite him trying to rise in the ranks of the Zora Royal Guard, he makes an effort to catch your attention every time he sees you

whether it be through showing off his archery skills or making someone else in his unit look dumb

but one day, he finally runs into you at the market

“Finally, I don’t have to play a fool to get your attention.”

he’s charming

suave

but his tone gives off how cocky he can be

despite that, though, you can tell he’s sincere when he compliments you

over the course of a few months, he gets to know you

and once you two build a comfortable relationship, he’s not afraid to tease you a bit

he’s witty with his words

and the light; gentle touches he gives, though appropriate, make your heart soar

he absolutely takes mental notes of your expressions

and that’s how he know’s he’s doing something right

he goes at your pace, waiting for the right moment to make a move

and when that moment comes, he makes sure you’re both alone 

he leans in close and gives you a quick kiss on the cheek; a cocky grin to follow

and the look on your face

priceless

“Hey…”

his demeanor softens

and he’s not used to that

“I like you…”

he lets out a nervous laugh

“That’s a lie, it’s more than that. And I’m sorry if that’s not what you want to hear, but… oh, Hylia, your face is etched in my mind; your voice a melody no other could sing.”

he takes your hand into his, looking into your eyes as he leans his forehead against yours

“You drive me fucking crazy.”

you haven’t pulled away

and he goes for it, kissing you with so much emotion

he pulls away slowly, laughing giddily

“Don’t tell anybody I’m this fucking sappy.”

as your relationship progresses, so does the teasing

he’s definitely not afraid to get a bit handsy with you

and though he keeps it tame in public, in private is another story

he loves it when you sit in his lap

and especially when you lay on his chest when he’s reading

he’ll speak to you in Zoran when you’re sleepy to soothe your mind

or when he wants your attention

but he’ll never be as soft as he was on that night

{ well, he will, but… that’s for another headcanon ;) }

now that he’s not trying so hard to get you to notice him, he’s able to focus on his career

and at work, he’s STERN

not to mention how he shows off with the shock arrows that no other Zora dares to touch

now it’s to the point where people listen to him, despite him having a very common rank

and after years, he lands his sergeant position

and you couldn’t be more proud of him

you visit him at work quite often

and new recruits assume you’re just as intense as he is

which absolutely isn’t the case

but Seggin finds it hilarious

A few pages from my Zora sketchbook, because I haven't posted in a while and thus there's a void in bazzposting in the world. Probably. Anyway, here's Him, my main man, with guest appearances from Sidon, Link, Seggin, Rivan and Dunma. More context about some of these under the cut, because obviously I have Thoughts~

1 and 2 are loosely connected iirc, like is Sidon reacting to the letter? Maybe? All I know is that I reaaallly like drawing Sidon having more complex emotions, let the man be a little angey, especially behind closed doors. 3. Bazz and Seggin, I like thinking about this relationship so much. This particular moment alludes to the fact that in my zora canon Bazz technically still lives with Seggin, but has been sleeping at his office couch (pool) ever since he got the keys to the place. Seggin has Opinions of course. (as a sidenote, I have a whole thing about Zora housing, but it's waiting for when I manage to make the floorplan sketches a bit nicer) Bazz will show up for dinner, of course and no one will be happier for it. 4. The lounging area of Bazz's office, usually hidden by a folding screen (that's where he sleeps, re point 3). Also that's his usual manner of sitting when he's not in his At Work mood. 5. Link cooks with Rivan and Dunma in the Domain's communal kitchens. 6. This Bazz was actually drawn for a Bazzlink thing, hence the small hylian eye level perspective lol. And why he looks so weirdly cute. 7-8. No context here, I was just messing around with Bazz's expressions. I -really- like the wah! though.

also as a bonus heres the current state of the zora sketchbook folder for 2025 i am so good at file naming (every csp has like 10 or 20 drawings in them, i cant be bothered to make a new file every time i have a new idea)

Redrew my Zorasona, Pebbles!

I see a lot of people saying that Yona’s domain may be a coral reef environment, and I think it would suit Pebbles to be from there as well! She’s a Geologist, and her tentacles (which reach her tailbone) are all functional as individual arms- which is perfect for holding for rocks and tools! I like to think she’s my normal height of 5’2, because octopi can shrink down to squeeze through small cracks. I imagine her small stature would help her hide in the reefs or squeeze around in underwater caves to find the things she’s looking for. I could imagine maybe she has that octopus ability to camouflage ever so slightly.

Perhaps she came to Zora’s Domain with Yona and her entourage. She was definitely convinced because “oooh active continental margin…. subduction zone with resulting volcanic arc ooooh” like any geologist would be. Take a break from the M.O.R.B’s and turbidites, Pebbles. After all, Ledo and Fronk could use some help locating and mining luminous stones.

She also definitely has a thing for guards- wink wink. (But who wouldn’t). And maybe Ledo-

I guess other factors would be she’s a young adult (early 20’s for a Zora), and she’s a biromantic asexual. She’s also afraid of the deep open ocean, the only thing keeping her going down there is the hunt for pillow basalts.

Tired sketching this cutie again. I couldn’t decide what specific type of octopus she is, it was between an Atlantic Pygmy and a Dumbo. I’ve cut my hair shorter since I drew her ages ago, but I think her small stature fits more with the Atlantic Pygmy and its iconic orange coloring.

My handwriting it terrible here so I’ll translate the notes lol

- ~110 yrs old (young adult for a Zora)

- just like how Zora can move their head-tail (what are we even calling it?), she can move her tentacles.

- mistake in the first drawings, but she should be wearing brass or copper toned metals since she is from Yona’s Domain, not Lanayru.

- she’s got two face-framing tentacles that are shorter to mimic the classic silhouette of the standard Zora’s face framing-fins

- white freckles, mimics octopus skin texture/blotchy coloring

- horizontal pupils, as seen in octopi.
