she probably shouldn't have climbed through the others window, but she needed a fast break and she could tell right away that the window was unlocked. she was under the impression that one of her father's guards had caught her trail when she lied about staying home. face hidden in a purple sweatshirt, steph shuts the window behind her and jumps once she realized that the room... isn't empty.
"SHIT." steph hissed out, immediately raising her hands up to show that there was nothing in her grip. "i promise you, this isn't a robbery. this definitely isn't a robbery. i don't want or need anything of yours, fuck." blue eyes stare at the other. "can i just hide here, for a bit? i'm just waiting for that sketchy black van to drive down the road. i can pay you. venmo you? zelle you? cash app you? hell, even give you a visa gift card with $50 deposited in it. name your price."

However subtle, the scraping against their outer walls had immediately put Jesper on guard. Not that people climbing their house was new to him— his friends did occasionally seem to forget that there was a front door available to them. But Inej would’ve made his window without a sound, and the others would’ve been less subtle, their feet a lot heavier than whoever was making their way towards him. Judging from their movements, it seems less like a premeditated move, and more of a panicked escape, but Jesper still makes a point out of reaching for his pistols, his gaze focused.
That lasts about a few seconds, before the female actually enters his vision and even goes as far as to take her time and shut the window behind her, never looking around. Jesper relaxes, anxiety shifting into curiosity, and a hint of amusement once she goes off rambling. He knows this person— or, well, knows might be a bit of a stretch, but he’s definitely met her before. “I’m insulted,” he states, when she tells him she’s not interested in anything of his, “I have plenty of things worth stealing.” His hats, and his pistols, to name a few. But since she’s insisting: “I don’t think you’d be able to afford my price, but I am nothing if not a gentleman. Do I look like the type of person who’d feed you to the wolves? Again, rude, and insulting.”
"jesper?" her tone breaks out in shock as she spots the other, her hand trying not to cover over her mouth as he rambles on about what had happened. she didn't mean harm by her words, before she's openly walking around his room. she hadn't realized that this was his apartment, before holding up a cloth of some kind. "is this worth stealing? because i feel like my great grandmother would dismiss it for kindle." her words come with a grin, this time taking a moment to sit on his bed without asking. "i didn't realize that it was you. i wouldn't sell you to the wolves, but what is the saying? to never trust men?" she's grinning wider now, the anxiety leaving her body. "do you usually carry a gun on you? even in your own apartment?" she's observant, she always has been. and she's not afraid to make it known.
