The way you shade hair is so pretty! Any tips on how to add highlight coz I suck at that.

Okay I have a hair tutorial but it’s a bit outdated so.

1-3 is just my regular shading process, now for the three different types of highlight at the bottom:

Simple: This is just a simple line of a lighter color. I just look at where my light source is and draw the highlight based off that. Not much to this one.

Shiny: This is the one I do pretty often. For this one, you want to grab a light color and make short- quick strokes based of the direction that the hair is going in. Then you want to add shades both on top, and underneath the highlight. It makes it look really sleek and shiny. Works better on Hair that flows though.

Painty: This is usually when all the colors are on one layer. Light source doesn’t matter to much with this one, I just take a tool that blends well and just use it where I feel it’s appropriate. Following the direction of the hair is still important, and it works great on kinky or curly hair that may not be as easy to highlight with the first two techniques.
