“Yeah, I guess that is true. I had a pretty decent amount of friends at home growing up. I also had a ton when I lived in New York.” harmony replied, knowing that making friends had never been much of an issue for her. It seemed that everywhere she went people seemed to like her. “I might get an apartment next year, so maybe I’ll get one then.”

“That’s good,” he nodded, not really having much else to add. “That’d be good. If you can’t have a family pet, then at least you can have your own soon enough. It’s worth it. I can easily say that.”

“He is, as far as I can tell. But he has a nice little bed and gets fed what he seems to think is delicious food every day, so I can see why.”

Cris furrowed his eyebrows and tilted his head to the side as he examined the boy. “Actually, yeah, you kinda do.”

“Why?” he looked over at the other guy incredulously. “What does that even mean?”

“I will not steal him, I promise you I won’t steal him.” As she went to pick him a smile formed on her face, she loved him and loved holding him and only wished she would be allowed one. Looking up she nodded, “What exactly does he help with? If you don’t mind me asking.”

He nodded, watching her hold the puppy. Even though he could tell she would be careful with him, Rohit still felt some sort of inherent duty to keep an eye on the little guy. “Emotional support animals are meant to help people with disabilities with some aspect of it. Obviously he’s not going to fix my leg, but he’s here to help me with, you know, the rest of it,” he explained, not really sure what to say. It was more than he’d spoken to many people in a while, though he did his best to make it clear without giving her reason to feel uncomfortable.

“He’s little.” Jamie said softly, in awe of the tiny dog and Casey laughed softly at the three year old, “That’s because he’s a baby, like Abby is a baby. He’ll be bigger when he grows up.” he told the little boy before turning his attention back to Rohit, “What kind of dog is he?” he asked.

Rohit glanced up, letting the man explain to what he guessed was his son. “He’s a mutt, so I’m not exactly sure. He can pet him, if he’d like,” he added, nodding in the direction of the little boy.

Cristoph was sitting on the steps of the Great Hall, watching some videos his brother had sent him of his favourite lamb; Rosalina, who has since then grown up to be a fine teenager. The boy had a stupid smile on his face and his smile just got bigger when someone sat down beside him, immediately bombing them with a fact about sheep, “Hey, did you know sheep are self-medicate and heal themselves by consuming specific plants?”

After deciding he didn’t really want to walk much farther to find a place to stop, Rohit took a seat on the steps. It wouldn’t be super easy for him to get up later, but it worked for the moment. He was in the midst of getting out a book when the guy next to him started spewing strange facts. “Do I look like a sheep expert to you?”

He raised an eyebrow at the other and ignored his previous comment. “I’m surprised they’re letting you keep it.”

“They gave me special permission to do so. I didn’t sneak him into the dorm,” he told the other guy with a shrug.

Gaby couldn’t help but be so excited about the puppy. She’d never had a dog back home, or a cat for that matter, but she was always really into animals. A puppy was something she’d asked for every year before christmas as a joke, since she knew her family probably wouldn’t get one for a while. “Gaby, it’s nice to meet you.”

Rohit continued to stroke the fluffy animal on his lap, completely enraptured by it. Though he knew he wasn’t an immediately changed person, he had to give Manish credit for naturally raising his spirits so quickly. “You, too. Though I think he’s the most excited about having someone new around,” he commented in reference to his puppy.

That’s fair, I suppose. I am sure that the dog will love all of the attention.

“I think he already does. Look at him wiggling.”

“I guess that makes sense, although I would have played with it a lot. As an only child I got pretty lonely sometimes.” Harmony replied, knowing that growing up in a huge house wasn’t always everything if you didn’t have anyone your own age to share it with. “Yeah, they usually have beautiful fur patterns, and are friendly.”

“Being an only child forces you to find people outside of your family,” he thought aloud, thinking back to how eagerly he’d made friends upon leaving his extended relatives when he and his parents moved to America. “You could buy one when you no longer live at home.”

Kara nodded, “That he is.” She smiled softly as she looked over at him and bit her lip nodding, “I would love to if that’s okay with you. Don’t worry I promise to give him back no matter how much of a struggle that will be.”

“Yeah, go right ahead. As long as you’re not stealing him, then it’s alright,” he consented, shifting the puppy far enough forward in his lap so she could easily reach him. “He’s very friendly. At least, he’s seemed to be so far, and it is part of his job description.”

“Yeah, well we had a maid. So they wouldn’t have had to do anything besides pay for the food and such. But yeah.” Harmony replied, knowing her parents had done very little actual parenting when she had been really young. It wasn’t until she became older that they had seemed  to come around. “They’re about medium sized, and they’re really fluffy with long fur. They’re often trained to herd sheep and other livestock.”

“Then your maid would become the dog’s favorite person. Whoever feeds a dog is always its preferred family member,” he explained from experience. Rohit thought through her description, pretty sure he knew what she was talking about as she detailed the breed. “I’ve probably seen them before. They sound pretty.”

Now you’re the man on campus with a dog, women will flock to you.

“I’m not sure I need women to flock to me. That fit me way better in high school. Though if they’re flocking to my dog, then that’s fine.”

“He’s the cutest little thing,” Kaylie couldn’t help but smile, her fingertips ran themselves through the puppy’s fur. “Is he going to get any bigger?” she asked curiously, not having much experience in dog breeds or anything of the sort.

Rohit glanced up at the girl in front of him, smiling a little and nodding. “Yeah, I think he should be about medium sized. That’s what the people who gave him to me said, at least.”

Hyuk stared down at the dog with bored eyes. “What an…interesting name for a dog,” he commented, trying his best not to sound judging but failing miserably. “Are you keeping it in the dorms?”

“Why is it so ‘interesting’ to you? It’s hardly my fault if you don’t know anyone who gives their animals names derived from Sanskrit,” she shrugged, petting the dog indifferently. “I am.”

“My parents never let me have a puppy at home, because apparently they are too much to look after….which might be true, but it is not like they were really the one’s looking after anything.” Harmony replied, noting wanting to go too much into personal details about her part. “Medium dogs are always a great size, personally I think my favourite type of dog is a Sheltie.”

“They are a lot to look after, it’s true,” he confirmed, picking up on some different issues based on her phrasing, but leaving it alone. It wasn’t his business, and even with his newfound attempts at kindness, he didn’t care that much. “What do Shelties look like? I don’t know much about American dog breeds.”

I think someone would have to be completely heartless to not love this dog.
