She immediately handed over the rabbit with a grimace, offering a rarely heard sentiment of gratitude. “Thank you, can you? Take it take it take it please, before I puke.” She should have guessed she wouldn’t be good at the skinning. The hunting was fun, the killing was less fun but at least it was- usually- quick. But the skinning, it made her stomach crawl; the feeling of flesh under her fingers, the squelching sounds, everything about the process made her feel like she’d never be able to keep food down again.
She was beautiful, but she was beautiful in the way a forest fire was beautiful: something to be admired from a distance, not up close.

“Eretria, where the hell have you been?” She didn’t bother waiting for an answer before tossing a pack at the other girl. “C’mon, Bell said he wants us out in pairs and I need to wash some grime off me. You drew the short straw so you get to be my pair.”

eretria inhaled and pinched the bridge of her nose. eretria had of course gotten herself in another mess and she had to deal with roma. as much as eretria cared for roma, she was a big pain in the ass. she dealt with her anyway. not like she had anyone else.
eretria looked over and let out a sigh. she repeated her words in her head five times. she was hesitant for a moment and she spoke up,

“You say that like I don’t already know that.” She lobbed back with a chuckle. She hadn’t actually, but it didn’t surprise her. If there was one person on this godforsaken planet she’d have compared to herself, it’d be Eretria. They bonded over their mutual distaste for most people, most situation, and occasionally each other. It was a… curious friendship, but a friendship nonetheless.
She shrugged, running the stone over her blade once more. “Whatever. It’s not that bad. Anyone gives you shit just, I dunno, kill them.” She smirked up at the other girl.
This is what he prefers after a long day. No talking, no discussing what they’re going to do for the few months to come. There is constantly something to think about when it comes to the ground. Such as, what supplies they’ll need for the next week or so, how much ammo they have left, what they will do if the grounders attack. How to keep these kids safe. Bellamy doesn’t want to spend his life on earth worrying twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. This is supposed to be their second chance at life. Why waste it? What’s wrong with a little chaos?
If he could, he would spend most of his days out in the woods hunting. It’s different from everything else. While Clarke and Octavia are against it, Bellamy likes to be alone out there. It’s another way to ignore what’s going on in camp. Though, Roma is a better way to distract himself. The way her lips move against his with the same fervor and harshness. She knows exactly what he needs, because it is what she needs as well. Neither of them seem to care of the others are watching. To them, in the moments like this, they don’t exist.
The smug look in his eyes only grows, lips curving upwards, when her hips come to meet his. As soon as he head cocks to the side, Bellamy’s eyes dart to her neck. A fire burning behind his eyes, he will happily oblige with her wish. Shoulders rise and fall. So, maybe he’s not thinking of her when he’s out there. A distraction like that could cost him his life. “Okay, you’re right. But once I step into those gates, you’re my first thought. – Most of the time.” Hesitating no more, the brunette dips his head to places his lips against the crook of her neck. More teeth than lips at this point.
He gives her no time to respond, the scratch of teeth against the sensitive skin of her neck making it all but impossible for her to do anything other than let out a low purring sound, too quiet to be called a moan, too content and satisfied to be called anything else. Her hands travel lower, slipping just beneath his waistband, so that when she skimmed his hips and pulled him even closer, her fingers had warm skin to grasp. She’d intended to pull him away, back to his tent; as much as she enjoyed the jealousy, she wasn’t one for a public show, but it was hard to remember that when all she wanted was him closer, less clothed, his lips and hands lower.
She’d never admit it, even now while buzzed on lust and need, but she thinks of him while he’s gone, while he leaves camp and she’s left behind here. Not just because he was a distraction, and her most favorable one here, but because there was a part of her that genuinely liked him, cockiness and all. She liked his soft spot for Octavia, liked his concern for the rest of the kids, liked his devotion to his morals. Liked the strong body under her fingertips and the strong spirit that made his eyes burn whether they were filled with lust or power.
There was a lot to hate about Bellamy Blake, but there was a lot to like about him too.
His teeth teased another quiet moan from her, “Bell…” Her fingers tightened on him and she straightened her head, nipping at his chin. “Your tent?” She didn’t even know if he’d had something to do upon returning, and she didn’t really care. She needed more than she was getting, and she saw no shame in asking for it.

It’s been so long since he smiled, at least it feels that way. Not enough time to show such an emotion, not when his people are out there, and the other’s are back at the ship – hopefully still alive. But, the corners of his lips curve upwards at her comment. The thought of him being some kind of beacon. He can be there, though, jump in the front line to save a group of delinquents. When did he get like this? So caring. Just a few weeks ago, he didn’t care for anyone, not truly (except Octavia.) And now, he’s risking his life to make sure Finn of all people doesn’t make it back to the grounder camp. Maybe it’s for Clarke. She would be broken if they made it back and he wasn’t in tow. But then again, —… when did he start doing things for Clarke?
Funny how things change in such little time.
Dark curls are tousled as he shakes his head. Dammit Finn. That’s exactly how he feels. It would be so much easier to just go back to camp. To let the dice fall where they may. The smile fades quickly as he goes back into leader mode. More worried about lives than teasing. He doesn’t notice the blood and the wound that covers her shoulder. A nod at the knife she holds. “Good, keep that handy. Make sure it’s quick to grab. They aren’t going to give Finn back willingly.” If they can retrieve the boy, then they can get back to the dropship. He can’t quite get his mind off of everyone that made it onto the ship when it exploded. He saw what it did to the outside, but he hasn’t seen the after effects. Doesn’t know what it looks like. Surely their entire camp is destroyed. There’s most likely a lot to be done.
She’s pleased to see him smile, even for a moment. He’s too serious- despite the fact that his half serious, half cocky attitude is what’s so appealing about him- too often, and he’s got too good a smile to waste it on constant frowns. Not that they had much of a chance to smile since arriving, since the grounders started their attacks almost immediately upon the kids’ arrival down here. So little peace, so little chances to be truly happy, not that it made much of a different for her, even when she was happy she was rough-edged and aggressive, but the others had smiled in their first few days here, some almost constantly. Then people started showing up bloodied, then not coming back, then dying right outside their walls, and the smiles stopped coming so easily.
She nodded as he spoke, tucking the knife into her inside pocket, where she could reach it at a moments’ notice in almost any position. “So what’s the plan? There’s only two of us, we don’t have enough to surround them, but we can at least come from two angles, catch them the slightest off guard?” She was mostly bullshitting; she wasn’t a leader, or a warrior, though she was getting better with each passing day. But she had logic, and she had a base instinct of how to hunt, and this was somewhat like hunting, they just wanted to keep one of the prey alive, kill the rest.

“Knowledge.” she answered, head lifted slightly. She was a proud warrior, but as a leader she had to make the best decisions possible for her people. While not many would accept help of skaikru, they were more advanced in ways. Beside their knowledge of healing, which had been never seen before, the sky people were aware of the weapons used against them by the mountain men. It would place them at advantage.
“Your people know more of the same weaponry, the technology used by the mountain men where we do not. And unlike you, we know the territory better than anyone. This is our home. Together we have the strength to defeat the mountain.” Lexa was confident that they would win. It wouldn’t be easy, but with help of skaikru they would win and end the existing war that had cast it’s shadow for too long over their land.
She weighed the answer, finally nodding. It made sense, whoever was living in the mountain probably more closely resembled the sky people than the grounders, and their familiarity with the weapons and the thought processes, it was a logical assumption that they’d be able to help with whoever is in the mountain.
“So I hate to ask this because it may not end well for me, but what can I do to help? I know our people that are already down here, but I’m not one of the leaders, and while my parents may be coming down, it’s unlikely the adults are going to listen to hardly any of us once they get down here. You need Bellamy or you need Clarke.”
